I'm not sure why this is happening. The top image is a "full" Cycles render in Blender 2.93. The bottom image is a Material Preview using the View-->Viewport Render Image. I'm using the CC Blender Tools. Skin looks fine in Eevee, but I can't figure out what's wrong with the Cycles render. I have adjusted SSS (even zeroing it out) and it doesn't seem to help. Suggestions?

When you switched to cycles did you rebuild the materials using the CC3 blender addon? Also, you might check the shader material for the skin to ensures the image texture is marked as srgb instead of nocolor

I did use the CC3 add on to rebuild the shader. I have not checked that the shader is using the sRGB. Will check now.

Which version of the add-on are you using?

Older versions used to do something like that in Cycles.

Map heading into the shader node was/is designated as sRGB.

Using 1.2.2 

But I think I figured it out. I had Rebuild Advanced Materials selected. When I used Rebuild Basic Materials, the skin looks "normal."

In your opinion, is there a way to keep the flexibility of using the Advanced Shader and the various tweaks in this situation?

It looks like there either entirely too much subsurface or there's some emission in there.

Check that the emission settings are all set to zero.

In the material nodes on the skin shader, is anything plugged into the subsurface radius socket? (There's not supposed to be.)

Were the materials in the blend file originally built with an older version of the add-on?

Here is a picture of the node structure, if it helps.

I've been working on the project for a little more than a week now, so I believe everything was brought in under v 1.2.2, but I can't rule out that I used an earlier version of the plugin (though I don't believe so).

The Emission Strength on the Head Skin Shader is set to 1. I did zero it out and it shows the same result. 

Worse case scenario, I will use the Basic Material. It still looks quite good.
