StudioMM (2/12/2022)...but the 'export to CC3' button is greyed out. Exporting from the CC3 tab is not available!

To export back to CC3 you must export the character from CC3 in such a way that the FbxKey is generated with it. i.e. Fbx Options: Mesh only.
Edit: Also, very important: uncheck embed textures, uncheck delete hidden faces, uncheck bake diffuse and specular maps.
If there is no Fbx Key, the button is greyed out.

It seems I don't have the Blender Autosetup in my plug-in section from CC3 either....I looked at the Reallusion website but I don't see a plugin for Blender, only for Unity and Unreal.

There's a link to it buried somewhere in the Blender pipeline page.
or just go here: https://github.com/soupday/CC3-Blender-Tools-Plugin
Some people have trouble installing it, as dropping files into the program files folder is not a user friendly process, so I've made an installer for it. It's in the release page: https://github.com/soupday/CC3-Blender-Tools-Plugin/releases
See if that works.

I tried to use the CC3 > Blender Pipeline with a standard character from CC3. The moment I import it in Blender I get a Python report window with all kinds of errors that don't make any sense to me.

That's a concern, the standard character should produce no errors at all. Was it the default CC3+ character (the one loaded in at program launch)? Or one of the sample characters? Also what version of Blender are you using? The add-on is tested for versions 2.83 to 3.0.

Now onto the real problem:
(From your other thread.)
Hi, It's a character called Cartoon Base.ccavatar (purchased with the Cartoon Character Designer - Toon Figures pack. Thanks for your reply!

Ok. I have that pack so I can test it...

...And can confirm there is a problem with the cartoon base characters and the add-on. It's a simple fix I'll push that out after a bit more testing.

Version 1.1.9:
Github page - Release Page
  • Fixed PBR eye material crash.
Also: Installer for the CC3 Re-importer Plugin: CC3 Blender Tools Plugin - Release Page

Hopefully this will resolve the cartoon base problems...

Some tests:

I'm getting pretty desperate. Seems i've been posting issues on the wrong platform. Reallusion support is failing also. Someone told me that the guy responsable for the Blender Auto setup is monitoring the forum and  will be ready to help. So here I go (again). I have to major issues with the CC3 > Blender and viceversa Pipeline:

-Why is my 'export to CC3' in the Blender CC3 tab greyed out? No matter what I try (different models, minor adjustments without ruining the mesh, etc...) This button stays 'greyed-out'.
-Why does my CC3 version lack the functionality of importing Blender files (looking at tutorials this should be possible from the plugin/blender_import menu.

In some tutorials I see other functionality in the CC3 tab in Blender. For instance 'import morph object'. But maybe this is a previous version of the addon. There is also an offical Reallusion tutorial that starts with a basic CC3 character that was heavily modified by sculpting. I'm able to do this but I can't get it back into CC3 with the pipeline due to the greyed-out export button. Hope I'll finally get an answer and some help. This is real frustrating to be honest.

Thanks in advance.

Did you also select everything from the character in the outliner?
then the button Export to CC3 should be active.

Did you read the replies from the Victor.Soupday in this post and this one? Have you downloaded the latest versions that he linked to?

Hi, I now tried it with everything selected in the outliner. No result. The ''Export to CC3" button still is greyed out. I really have no clue why this is happening. It's driving me crazy.
The CC3 > Blender pipeline should be easy...for me it's not...https://forum.reallusion.com/uploads/images/1f06a79f-390e-47eb-90e7-f4c4.jpg

Hi,
I think it works for all of us, try it with this Standard Character. See also the export settings.

From that screen-shot I can see two things:

1. You are still using version 1.1.8 of the add-on. Upgrade the add-on to version 1.1.9 and it will set up the materials correctly.
You can update from the Blender preferences: Menu > Edit > Preferences

https://forum.reallusion.com/uploads/images/d5778a54-d799-4301-a080-cd9a.jpg

This will check for updates and give you the button to upgrade to the newest version. You will probably need to restart Blender after upgrading.

2. The pose of the character shows it was not exported (from CC3) as mesh only. Which means CC3 will not generate an Fbx Key, which means it cannot be re-imported back to CC3.

Use these settings, Exactly, to export from CC3:

If all has gone correctly it should look like this in Blender after importing:
