there is a way to make my weight map of my custom cloth in blender and sending back into CC ? when i saw "Users can directly control the skin weights and texture baking in Blender for perfect results." i though i would be able to easly do that. i don't know if i didn't do this in the right way , but it seem to not working on my side.

PhysX weightmaps?

You have to load them in manually in CC3 once you've imported your custom clothing from the physics tab in the modify panel, with the clothing selected:

That requires importing back as fbx, with the fbxkey.

To bring a skinned accessory back into CC3 you need to first export the FBX character from CC3 as mesh only, so it generates an FBX key. Then import it into Blender as a morph character. If you make an accessory or clothing, skin and parent it to the character armature it should include it when you export the full morph character back to CC3.

I only wanted to say that after learning a little bit more on how to use this add-on and how to set-up Blender for better renderings I'm really happy you shared this add-on with us, this is where I stand a couple of months ago importing models directly from CC3 into Blender without your tool

And this where I am now thanks to your add-on and some learning about lighting and render settings in Blender

Thanks a lot again for sharing this add-on with the community and if there is any way to support your work please let me know, I think you deserve more than just a couple of words for this tool.

Hi all,

I'm experiencing a weird issue when I try to import a character from CC3 with hair from Hair Builder.

The image below is a default import with the free Smart Hair style applied. Which looks fine by me.
Recently I bought Hair Builder, which is using the same Smart Hair system, I guess.
But whenever I import a character with one of those hairstyles applied, the shader setup is completely off. (second image)

In one of the latest vids from Reallusion, demonstrating this awesome addon, he is even using one of those hairstyles from Hair Builder.
And looked great right off the bat.

I've fiddled a little bit with the settings, but I guess I'm missing something here.

Hope someone can point me in the right direction with this.

Thanks in advance.

** Edit: the bang looks fine though. (?)

It probably hasn't detected it as hair properly. As there is no information detailing what object should be what shader type I have to guess based on the object and material names. It doesn't always get it right...

You can fix it in the Build Settings panel:

https://forum.reallusion.com/uploads/images/fa0c99fa-e84d-4ae6-8dcc-b7fd.png

Hair objects and materials should be set to:
  • Object Type: Hair
  • Material Type: Hair.
Press the Rebuild Advanced Materials after that, and it should set the materials properly. (If it got it wrong...)

Thank you for your answer, but here's the weird part.
I did all what you suggested (rebuild materials - hair/hair), but still it gives a weird result. As shown in these images (same for schalp as hair).

I must completely doing something wrong.

Thanks again for the quick reply! :)
