I only recently got Character Creator 4 and am now on the latest 4.5 Version. Ever since i installed it i was having very bad performance in the UI and 3D View no matter the rendering settings and i also reset my graphics driver settings (which was the only thing i could find for a potential fix). I have a beast of a machine Ryzen 5950x, RTX 4080, 96GB RAM, lots of NVME Storage and all the other 3D Programs work without issue and great performance. Now one peculiar thing i found out when i was testing Animation on my character is that there is a huge improvement 10fps - 200fps when the character creator window is not in focus (i just click some other small window to bring it into the forefront with CC4 still visible in the background). It would be awesome if there was a fix for the bad performance, because i actually like the program despite of all the bugs and usability issues.

Is it safe to install 4.5 yet?  Have the bugs and crashes been resolved?

Yes, it's quite frustrating.

This is another "come and go".  Wonder if we ever get this finally fixed....
Happening to all 4 neutral bases - male, female and cartoons.

I know how to reassign, but it's extra clicks and time.
Not that those resource maps are frequently needed in Skingen, but could they be finally properly pointed, or removed altogether?

Have the bugs and crashes been resolved?

There are dozens of ways utilizing application. Some people would never experience bug/crashes other people would.

But I cannot recall any version which did not have bug and specifically crashes at some point.
Bugs?  -  just look up in Feedback Tracker for v4.5
Crashes? - in my experience no more/no less than any other version did.

Sir, the crashes were much more than mere inconveniences.  When attempting to use any custom hair file, CC would crash.  The UI was rearranged and could not be reset.  All custom sliders disappeared. Custom clothing would intermittently cause crashes. There was a crazy issue where it would constantly attempt to resynch assets - leading to crashes.

The "fix" as per the help desk was to uninstall CC and reinstall an earlier version which has disabled IRAY.

Please do not dismiss everyone else on this thread who has had these issues.  Do you know if this functionality has returned and the patch has been fixed?

Since CC 4.5 was released there have been two smaller updates which fixed a number of the issues initially reported. The latest build is v4.5.3325.1 but if you still encounter issues after installing, then please report them in the Feedback Tracker and they will be looked at.

I am having some trouble with the CC > Substance Painter Pipeline. When I import and and set the project up as directed on the Reallusion website, I get this result - The AO and Thickness maps seem to be causing the issue. Looks like overlapped UV's, but the UDIM's should be set, correct? I am not sure what has happened or how to fix it, any advice?
