I was looking at iC7 upgrade and CC3 Pipeline yesterday on the software store products page and could have bought them for $129 each and they had a free upgrade to iC8 and CC4. Today its changed to the current promotion. Missed the boat.

So the upgrade price is 85% of the retail price?   It would feel more accurate to say... "We'll take15% off the price since you purchased one of our products previously."

I must say that is its not fair for the users that had bought all the products, and now they have to pay again. Not fair Reallusion.

I'm a little disappointed that the upgrade discount isn't higher.  15% is better than nothing, but it's still going to be over 600 dollars with tax for CC4 and IC8.  It may be out of my budget considering I'm a fairly casual user.  I've been buying reallusion products a long time now (CT8, CTA1,2, 3, Cartoon Animator 4, IC6 and 7 pipeline, CC1, 2, 3; not to mention thousands of dollars over the years in the marketplace and content store).  $600 just feels a bit steep this time.  EDIT:  although, I did see it pointed out that IC8 basically includes (correct me if I'm wrong) 3dxchange, and the cost of IC7, CC3 and 3dxchange was pretty much what IC8 and CC4 cost.  So there's that.  Still wish the discount were higher ... but don't we always wish?

Major RL release upgrades need to be paid; it's always been that way. This has nothing to do with fairness.

That is fair but a warning would of been nice, I just bought iclone last month having no idea new version was coming out, actually tried to find topics there was nothing, 1 month later i now have to rebuy the software at a 15% discount? They should of let you know if you buy this now you'll be missing out on the free upgrade next month.

I am a unity developer and i have purchased iClone, CC3 and 3DXCHANGE plug in. As i understood there is no free upgrade. But the question is: will you support this software or it will be discontinued? i.e. we had many problems lately with CC3 and the newer versions of unity. After CC4 are you willing to support CC3?

Older versions will still run but there will be no further updates.

EDIT: OK, I see your problem, which concerns interfacing CC3 with external programs. This is an interesting question that maybe Peter (RL) can shed light on.

Yes, exactly. I am sure there are many Unity/Unreal developers that purchased (and actually invest on) iClone and definitely CC3 for making high quality avatars. And if there is no support ( i.e. on Auto setup feature )  all this investment will be (mostly) useless!

"A warming would have been nice."  Isn't that sort of what we just got?  A multi-month warning?

I am sympathetic.  Honestly,  I've been in your situation more that once before.  Sometimes you get lucky, sometimes not.  But what else can a company do?
