antoniojosecastilla (11/4/2021) I must say that is its not fair for the users that had bought all the products, and now they have to pay again. Not fair Reallusion.
Major RL release upgrades need to be paid; it's always been that way. This has nothing to do with fairness. That is fair but a warning would of been nice, I just bought iclone last month having no idea new version was coming out, actually tried to find topics there was nothing, 1 month later i now have to rebuy the software at a 15% discount? They should of let you know if you buy this now you'll be missing out on the free upgrade next month. " A warming would have been nice." Isn't that sort of what we just got? A multi-month warning? If they provided this announcement one month early, then someone else would say, "I just bought a bunch of stuff. I wish I knew about the upgrade a few weeks earlier." If they provided this announcement two months early, then someone else would say, "I just bought a bunch of stuff. I wish I knew about the upgrade a few weeks earlier." If they provided this announcement three months early, then someone else would say, "I just bought a bunch of stuff. I wish I knew about the upgrade a few weeks earlier." If they provided this announcement four months early, then someone else would say, "I just bought a bunch of stuff. I wish I knew about the upgrade a few weeks earlier." I am sympathetic. Honestly, I've been in your situation more that once before. Sometimes you get lucky, sometimes not. But what else can a company do? Well maybe a company can not purposely do a SALE so people buy the software for only 1-2 month later to be like btw know that 800$ you just spent? if you want any updates or patches to issues you have, you gonna have to drop another 800$, I'm not rich, I'm not some big game dev, i'm just some hobby person who wants to make a game, and having to pay like 5k in 1 year for a software just rubs me the wrong way, Even the upgrade for Marvelous Designer license is only 200$ and thats going from version 9 to 11 edit : And honestly it's a common theme with reallusion, often by being loyal customer you get screwed on deals, like now i can buy all of cc3 and plugins for 300$ less than what i paid for supporting them and buying plugins as they came out, if I didn't support reallusion I would of been able to save so much more money, that just feels wrong. edit2: Also doesn't help that the money I just spent on iclone, the new features in cc4 have them in there now, so now i have no reason to even use iclone, and have to pay to get those features in cc4

HAVE A UPGRADE FOR THE LOYAL CUSTOMERS
ALL CUSTOMERS This is BS.
I own everything, all the plug ins.
I have paid thousands.
And 3d exchange will be EOL
In order to export to maya the correct way.
You guys have great tools. I truly love them
I use maya less and stop using motion builder
But dam. How much is.I clone and cc4 going to be
More than 800$. You guys are as bad as Autodesk.
Gots a lot to think about here.
Maybe just cut my loses. And invest more in maya and houdini
19. The now have motion builder mocap tools and more.
Not cool folks. Inflation is real and this is a money grab
HAVE A UPGRADE FOR THE LOYAL CUSTOMERS

coach1 (11/4/2021) I am a unity developer and i have purchased iClone, CC3 and 3DXCHANGE plug in. As i understood there is no free upgrade. But the question is: will you support this software or it will be discontinued? i.e. we had many problems lately with CC3 and the newer versions of unity. After CC4 are you willing to support CC3?
Hi... After the release of iClone 8 and Character Creator 4 you will still be able to use your existing versions and the provided tools and plug-ins as you do now. However, all future development of new tools, plug-ins and feature upgrades will be for iClone 8 and CC4 only. This is normal practise as once a new major version is released, development will cease for older version.

Please remember that your existing software is yours to keep and will continue to function just as it is for as long as you want to use it. Upgrading to iClone 8 and CC4 is optional. Your versions won't be switched off the day the new versions release. I'm also unclear about your figure of needing to spend 5K. The only software that will need upgrading if you do decide to upgrade is iClone and Character Creator and that can be done for $599. All your existing plug-ins will be upgraded for free to iClone 8 and CC4 versions and any content you have purchased will continue to work. edit2: Also doesn't help that the money I just spent on iclone, the new features in cc4 have them in there now, so now i have no reason to even use iclone, and have to pay to get those features in cc4
Apologies but I'm not understanding your point here. Which features of iClone are now incorporated into CC4 that make iClone no longer required? If you wish to create animations, use mocap tools, lip-sync, build scenes etc. will still require iClone. These features aren't in CC4.

Reallusion should hear their customers. I can undestand that we have to pay something for the upgrade, but not this prices. Please, reflect on this matter. Your customers have earned a respect, and this prices when we have spent that amount of money doesn't seem so respectful for me.
Regards to everybody and thanks for letting me giving my opinion.

Reallusion should at least have some considerations to those that brought 3Dxchange pipeline. The price of iClone 8 is just too high

I first bought a copy of iClone v3 in 2008. Since then, I've bought the upgrades (v7 was only $199), 3Dxchange Pipeline, CC3, assorted plugins including Facewear Realtime ($990). In other words, all told, $3100. I did it not because I am a professional, but just for a fun hobby. But I'm now retired on a fixed income and can't afford to upgrade at these professional level prices. While I have no problem being charged for a major upgrade, it seems clear you are abandoning hobbyists and are only interested in courting professionals who want to do pre-viz, game design, and so on.
I was looking forward to the upgrade, but unfortunately, it won't be. It was a good ride while it lasted, but is very disappointing how it is ending for us non-professionals.

iclone 7: $199. Upgrade: $129. (discount: 35%) CC3: $199. Upgrade $129. (discount: 35%) 3dxchange 7 Pipeline: $499. Upgrade $299. (discount: 40%) Total: $897. Upgrade: $557. (discount: 38%) I bought iclone 7 3dxchange Pipeline under a special offer, upgrading from iClone 6 Pipeline and 3dxchange 6. Cost to me was $179. Plus the $129 for CC3, my cost to upgrade was $308. (my discount: 66%)
iClone 8 and CC4 will have a regular cost of $699 and an upgrade cost of $599. (discount: 14%) Some facts: iClone 8 and CC4, compared to iclone 7, cc3 and 3dxchange, is about 22% cheaper. The upgrade cost is 7% more expensive. Overall, the upgrade discount went from 38% to 14%. However it was I managed to get such a magnificent discount upgrading last time, this time, the upgrade will cost me twice as much.
Make no mistake: Reallusion makes fantastic software. I understand that Reallusion wants to make software to be proud of, and that it's really nice knowing that professionals are starting to use it and take it seriously, and that it's no longer just a tool for hobbyists. However, I'd hate to see Reallusion someday become so expensive that it's JUST a tool for pros. It would be nice if the price were kept within reach of hobbyists too.
As it stands, I'm just not enough of a professional to justify $600 just to upgrade to the next version, no matter how many features it has.

For me It starts to become a tool for pros. I have all Pieplne versions of Iclone 7/CC3/Exchange and all the plugins. I got also CTA 4 and the plugins. As a hobbyist it's expensive but I have been acquiring the software in long periods of time. I would like to get IC8 and CC4 and I will so if the prices will be in my budget and want to see what promotions we'll see near the release.
But now I have also another problem. In my country taxes are 23% of the value so I will have to spend $100 or more to get them. Possibly I will stay in Iclone 7.
I also think that RL products are leaning towards a more professional public.
Let's see what news we get in the future.
Greets!
