Daz characters are quite useable in Iclone and can have fine performance but it takes some time to find the best way to do it.

Why did I go to all the trouble to work out how to do it?
Daz resources are simply too numerous for me to ignore. Their library is the biggest of such consistent quality and they get new products almost everyday. It's insane. Anyway just pointing out that it's not too bad once you get the hang of it.

I agree. It is worth the effort.

I add high detail to low resolution characters... using a (1024 x 1024) texture map:

https://forum.reallusion.com/uploads/images/c1478a4a-efd3-4d9a-a082-9c13.jpg

https://forum.reallusion.com/uploads/images/759abd22-9304-4302-b349-8221.jpg

Then, increase the resolution to Medium Res and still have the (1024 x 1024) look great.... like this:

https://forum.reallusion.com/uploads/images/862fab4a-1070-487e-8a0c-5773.jpg

No HD textures.
Diffuse =         1024 x 1024
Specular =      1024 x 1024
NormalMap = 1024 x 1024

.... objects move when exported....  Does this happen often?
Try a different model.

Tried several other models, problem did not occur anymore...
Would be cool anyway if someone who has more skills as me would check Simplygon UI, it's FREE and looks cool...
https://www.simplygon.com/
BUT video-tutorials are more showcases than really helpfull to understand what to do...
I hope they make some tutorials getting deeper into the matter :w00t:

EDIT
Props were no problem BUT I failed to reduce Character, 3DXchange crashes when I try to open the file...
I guess something wrong with the bones, probably a button to hit, but i do not know how

Something is wrong... The register page is not working. Can't register to download.

Problem doesn't appear anymore, Cool.
No problems with props. Problem with characters, though.

Props are a single mesh.
Select a single mesh of the character, i.e. skin. The characters mesh is (weighted to the bones).
You must make a (small) change when decimating.
You cannot change it vertex (order)

There are no tutorials?.... are you sure?

I saw all of these "tutorials" but for me they are not more as a quick showcase...
There are 8 shorts (+/- 1 min.) for NON Unreal Engine/Maya Users...
But they really do not go deeper in the matter ;-(

Registration Page loads immediately on my browser...

I'm not using windows 10 on this pc and have browser issues.

Nevertheless, decimating works like this:
1. Select a mesh... set its reduce value.... decimate. "That's It."

Character Decimating: (in your software of choice... turn off the skin)
Decimate the mesh using a small value.
Turn on skin.

Result:
Reduced polygons / triangles.  The vertices remain (correctly) weighted to the bones.
Follow this and you should not have a problem.

Also:
Simplygon has awesome tools.
Remesher
Bone reducer
... and much, much more.

Don't attempt to use any these features until you figure out what works in 3dxchange.

I own Daz Decimator... Result is poor due to lack of documentation/tutorials in combination with my poor skills and knowledge...
Distortion or clothes poke through...
What you Pros babble does not help me, sorry
Nowadays rookies need documentation and video-tutorials :D

Your determined and not afraid. I'll lay it out for you with care.

You want good Daz decimation results?
You've got to fix Daz mesh's. There is no way around it.
Use something like Blender and make quads.

Move the vertices..... otherwise your playing Russian roulette.
...so many are unwilling to do this... and suffer the poor results.

Crank up the resolution enough and anything will look good.
Attempt to decimate (Not All but a larger amount of) Daz content and experience "Poor Modeling."

You can always pay 3 to 5 times more for the same content that "Will" decimate pleasantly.
...or learn how create "Low Poly Proxies" and speed it up with "SkinWrap."

Thousands upon thousands of fewer poly's.

....that render super fast and looks great. ....

1024 x 1024 (Diffuse, Specular and Nomal Map)
Nothing HD!

Ray Trace this with AO & Sub Surface Scattering.... "Realistic 3d Character"
No need for HD NormalMaps..... Myth.
