Well I have been modded yet again on the DAZ 3D forum for discussing a bug in their software update because of the sinful act of speculation.
DAZ Forum Moderators 7:29 AM (7 hours ago) to me A post you made to the "Will FBX export ever be improved?" thread has been removed as your speculative comment that Daz wanted its content used only in Daz Studio was unsubstantiated and unlikely. I simply said its becoming more difficult to export content to other software and cannot help thinking its their intention to get users to only use DAZ studio. For that I was modded. I added up I have spent no less than 12K there!!! So yes I do have legitimate concerns I should be able to expess on a forum. Anyway if you do wish to go that path, Genesis 3 works if you do bone based expressions and the saved preset can be loaded with different vertex counts in expression editor no duf animation needed, mine only used morphs for drop jaw and side to side and you can still access the sliders if you bake them at frame 1. I am not sure what Crikey's preset does as not tried it.

Thanks Wendy, I'd like to check out Genesis 3 but I've spent so much money on Genesis that I literally can't afford to start again with a new generation of DAZ content - haha. Plus for Unity I usually have to decimate anyway to keep frame rates high.
I believe DAZ are going to provide us with a link so we can roll back to a previous version. They replied to me last night... when I get it I'll place it here :)

Ducknet bear with me if I'm not on the right track, I'm new to iclone. I run Daz 4.9. I have a Daz Genesis character I've imported into iclone using the 3DXchange pipeline and the Genesis2male iclone facekey supplied by iclone and it all works fine. Is this the same thing your talking about and it's not working for you? I think the 4.9 version of Daz is the current one. I saved my Daz character under both the 2012 and the 2014 FBX methods and both work.

Yes--if you are using old DAZ in your pipeline do not upgrade till they have this fix, if they ever do try to fix it. DAZ has a history of ignoring and being belligerent with people who have complaints or requests. Sometimes I think they actually dig their heels in the mud out of spite. Bad way to run a business.

They upgraded the platform to 4.9.2 and the .duf expression stuff in particular, no longer work BUT we don't have access to the previous version (4.9.1) so it is best to wait it out till they get the FBX bug fixed....

Not sure if I am replying to the right person but yeah--DAZ customer service sucks and whats' worse is they have people who will actually attack you for asking simple questions or having requests...it's like the place is run by a bunch of petulant, vengeful adolescents. Reallusion's is far superior--I have been happy with it...

That's the issue though--DAZ users were ecstatic when we saw the IClone pipeline because DAZ refuses address user concerns or wants regarding things like physics or game integration--in fact ,they ridicule, mod, or erase comments and even have people in the forums shame anyone who has a complaint. They will never in a million years give us what we want--which is why many of us spent a to of money to get the Reallusion pipeline. I don't think anyone is blaming Reallusion here--we're just frustrated by DAZ's usual apathy and blocking.

Wendy girl I am not at all surprised by how DAZ is dealing with this -- is there a way to get the old link, or the executable?

No legal way I am afraid and I will not risk my account doing anything dodgey under any circumstances I have too much money invested in it but I will try and do what I can to help people legally because thats how I roll, am working on a few alternative ways of achieving it using other software and other ways if injecting the info.
One thing you can try is to roll back the FBX dll itself in plugins. If you have a Windows restore point this is easy. (I sadly have it on another drive to C but did keep my backup installer and the previous FBX dll as said.) You click on properties and ask fir a previious version, you can even try it on the whole DAZ folder, make a back up then cherry pick out the file before returning the backed up folder. That is actually the only file that needs replacing I have the latest beta and replacing it worked. I have asked DAZ customer support to just provide iClone users with that file but only they can legally supply it my hands are tied.
