Another question that bothers me, can i use the iPhone Live Face Profile for Iclone together with Motion Link to animate
CTA5 Characters ? I have the webcam profile for CTA 5 already but i am not much satisfied with it.

Cartoon Animator 5 has it's own Live Face Profile that you have to use. You can't use the iClone version. However, the purchase of the iClone version gives you access to the CTA5 version and vice versa. You don't have to buy the Live Face Profile twice.

If i may make a suggestion in this place. When owning the webcam profile for cta buying the iphone profile makes the webcame profile become unnecessary.
Would be nice if RL would offer kind of an upgrade for the webcam profile so the user doesnt have to buy the whole mechnism again in a certain way.

This took ages to find out . Wifi is somehow working , but doesnt seem to be very accurate.
Now i am quite unshure about all this, the results in some RL Videos look much better.
Besides each time running my to router in the other room and manually disconnect the Internet cable in order to operate offline is a not very user friendly solution ;-)

QUESTION: Has anyone found a  solution to force the iphone to USB without a Simcard ?

You can find Connection Setup instructions by clicking the link below. If you don't have a good Wi-Fi connection I would recommend using Ethernet, especially if you don't have a Sim card.

I'm also puzzled by your offline/online issues. Why do you need to be offline? I never go offline when using Live Face and so I'm not sure why you need to. :ermm:

Sorry i mistakely copied the wrong text into the PM.
What i meant in my PM, is that you mentioned above in this thread when purchasing a profile for iclone i have access to a CTA profile and vice versa.
Support said this was an offer for IC7 only and doesnt exist anymore. So i was wondering if your information is newer and asked you to clear that up for me.

Simply for security reasons i keep all my devices offline as much as possible (especially when making funny faces into a camera :D ).
I was wondering if this can be established in USB mode. Ordered an ethernet cable today and in beetween i may have found a solution in my router firewall too)

Perhaps, One more question about this.
Shouldnt a CTA webcam profile with a good camera not good enough for CTA mocap ?
CTA has less trigger points, but because its 2D, would it really need an Iphone Profile
and/or is an Iphone profile supposed to perform better ?

If there was a change in policy regarding regarding the iClone Live Face and CTA Live Face profiles then that information never filtered down to me sadly. If I have given you wrong information then I do apologise but I will check this just be sure. I'll update again when I get this confirmed.



Generally you will normally get better results using an iPhone and Live Face, but you should still be able to get satisfactory results using the Webcam Profile. Obviously having an HD webcam and good lighting will enhance the results you get using a webcam. However, you certainly should be able to generate good facial mocap this way. I have checked this and the FREE CTA5 Live Face Profile for iClone users did indeed end and is no longer available. Once again I do apologise for giving you wrong information. If your purchase of the Live Face profile was based on the information I gave, then you are certainly entitled to a refund because of this. Its a kind of the other way around, i purchased the webcam profile without owning an iphone yet and not knowing how much better Live Face in fact works.
