DeepcutAdventure (2/20/2021)What motion capture suit do you use?

1st Place - XSENS MVN Animate + Manus Gloves [Fingers does not support on iClone] [Much Expensive!]
2nd Place - Perception Neuron Studio [full package of Body & Fingers - Lifetime Free Software - Fully support on iClone] [Best choice to me]
3rd Place - ROKOKO [Not good to me - Paid Software]
4th Place - AI things

Well, since we're revisiting this, there's no question in my mind the best mocap suit right now for prosumers is the Percention Neuron 3 (PN3).

It has none of the issues earlier suits had with magnetic interference, it has no wires, easy to put on (using the two piece, washable suit) and with the added gloves does perfect finger capture.  It's a *bit* pricey (around $4k for the whole thing depending on sales) but you need nothing else (no other software or, unlike Rokoko, any paid subscription) and just works perfectly.

As I said earlier in this thread, I've tried just about everything else and nothing else even comes close to the PN3.

Just chiming in. I own the Rokoko Smartsuit II with the smart gloves and so far its working for me. I use it to generate FBX animations and do not use it for any live-streaming (yet). It is easy to use and I've had no magnetic interference problems to date ( and I suspect my office is a pretty magnetically noisy place).
I do not own or have any experience with the PN suits, si I defer to Kellytoons experience there. I suspect the Rokoko vs PN is kind of like Ford vs Chevy: there are differences but in the end, they both get you to where you want to go.

I tried the Rokoko and sent it back (in particular the gloves in no way compare to the PN3, which just work easily).

But I'm sure those who have the Rokoko can make great stuff - it's certainly miles ahead of doing it manually.  But for those considering I would STRONGLY recommend the PN3 (I truly think there is none better - and no subscription fees like the Rokoko had/has, and it's cheaper, although not by much).

All helpful.  Mike, are you talking about the add-on six sensor gloves?  I just purchased the PN3 suit with straps and 17+1 (spare) sensors.  Comes with gloves but only sensors for R & L hand (1 ea).

There is a bit of a curve, but I know I’ll get it..  As in all things, every time there is an update it isn’t necessarily reflected in documentation.

Yes, the add-in gloves with the extra sensors (they cover two fingers and the thumb, but the software they use extrapolates so the ring and pinkie do move effectively - sign language or piano playing might be an issue, but otherwise no problem).

They currently have a special for some amount off to buy (I got it in the mail but deleted it - it sounded good for folks who don't have the suit or gloves).

Edit: It was just $500 off the suit, which I hope you got that discount (if not you could ask them for it).

I did get the $500 off, thanks!  And I believe they were offering free glove bonus on Black Friday but I didn't jump on it.  :(

Sorry you missed out on the gloves - I did see that (but I already have two suits with gloves so none of the deals were for me - then again, I paid full price for both of them.  Sigh).

The good news is you have the PN3 and you can play a bit and still get the gloves later if you want.  But I *would* recommend them.  I'd also recommend the suit itself (just be aware that it's a VERY tight fit.  On purpose.  But it's SO much nicer than the straps I wish I had done this a year ago when I bought my first PN3).
