As Yepkoo already explained you are not permitted to use any Reallusion content in an in-game character creator or generator with the Standard or Extended License. The use of an in-game character creator requires an Enterprise license which are issued on a case-by-case basis.

From your description it would appear what you propose would be classified as an in-game character creator, and so would not be permitted under the EULA without an Enterprise license.

Can you clarify something about this for me?

I understand that you're not allowed to have an in-game creator or generator. How does this work with changing outfits or textures? Nearly all games let you do this, and it's pretty much expected.

If you're trying to make an RPG, you need to be able to change a character's outfit, or generate outfits on enemies.

If you're not allowed to have a character change appearance based on what gear they find in the game, it greatly limits what you're actually able to make.

Can you please confirm that the extended license actually allows you to use assets in-game without having an enterprise license?

Kind of invalidates my main use case for all this Reallusion stuff if you're not allowed to actually use any of it in-game.

I'll bump this thread, because I also want to know the answer. I have a similar question.
Can I use CC Components (under Extended License)  in game that has shops, barbers and character inventory management? Like in Witcher 3. My character is predefinied but I can change his clothes and hair.  Can i use Extended License for this?
I have sent an email a month ago (to marketing@reallusion.com) with this question, but i didn't get an answer.

From what I understand from the license, we cannot allow users to customize any character or cc component.

However, if customization according to the game flow is a requirement, I think we can automatically change the character without allowing users to do any customization.

Actually, this is not a customization, but rather an update of the character according to the environment.

Considering the barber game, it may be a necessity to change the hair of the character whose hair is cut.
However, if you make the user choose a hair style instead of the hair you specify, it will enter this customization.

On this, Peter can give a more precise answer.

Hi...

If a game has any system which involves selecting different parts from a library of options (such as a clothing shop) then this would be classified as an in-game character creation system and would require an Enterprise License. You can't do this with an Extended or Standard License sadly.

However, you can have your character appear in different clothing and accessories at various points in a game with an Extended License. A good example of this method is used in games like Tomb Raider where Lara would appear in different outfits depending on locations like city scenes, the jungle, mountain regions etc.

Thank you for answer. I have next question. If I switch all your (Reallusion) clothes and hairs to my own models or models bought from other sellers (I.e Daz, etc.) and I will use only ccAvatar (body without hair) made in CC3/4 that player won't be able to change in any way, then will this be allowed (without Enterprise license)?
I will use CC3/4 only to create Main character body and player will only be able to change his clothes and hairs (which I will buy elsewhere). Do I need Enterprise License for this?

hi Expendabl3,

Yesterday I received kind of similar feedback, you may check this thread.

Secondly, have a look at the Content License Policy in this thread as well.

I will submit a new RL support ticket about your question as well, as I also wanted to know clearly.

Hopes this help.
