Ah, okay then we are getting around a 22% discount.  That's still less than any other company I know of, but not quite as horrible as I thought.

I did some searching around my various software (and I own thousands of dollars of things) and the SMALLEST discount I could find for upgrading was 33% - nearly all were 35-60%.  But, as I said, I will pay it albeit not happily.

But remember it has been 4 years since the last major payable upgrade. Many companies offer new versions every year that have to be paid for. The discount from these companies may be a bit higher but you are having to do it every year with minimal new features added. Plus, in the case of iClone 8 and CC4 there are sure to be some tempting early bird offers at release time which may sweeten the deal. ;)

Having a hard time convincing myself it's worth another investment,

Agreed: RL does roll out  major upgrades between big releases and has become a very respectable character / animation pipeline

This time it's a question of how much longer I want to keep investing in this endevour..

# Respectable expensive hardware
# Software in addition to CC and IC
# Content
# Time..

Awhile back a respected member had commented on his hesitation about another round of upgrades when it's little more than a glorified hobby. I'd like to keep this as a passion project but the time, effort and expense for a couple low view Youtube videos really does beg the question.. why?

Perhaps.. early bird tiered upgrade / 10% off for every full version purchased at release..

Make up for it in the content business, give customers a chance to make a little money back and compete to make the best content possible - RL get's a cut on every purchase - Content is king more than ever and will have many customers checking in frequently.

At this point it wouldn't be hard to move on without regret - Give us a reason to stay..
