I also noticed that when the character is in a dark place, all the hair materials are highlighted, and I couldn't find a material setting to tweak and fix that. Still no error in the console by the way EDIT: I solved this issue by assigning all the hair stuff on a separate layer, then going to my scene lights and in "Culling Mask", set off the new layer I just created. So now the lights doesn't bounce wierdly on the hair anymore ^^

"'file:' dependency [com.soupday.cc3_unity_tools] was not registered because its location is invalid (D:\Documents\Unity - Projet Varmalis\Assets\_A ranger\cc3_unity_tools_3D-0.1.9.3d). Make sure the package is not located under the Assets, Library or ProjectSettings directories. Ok, the package is not installed properly. It must be installed via the package manager, dropping into the assets folder won't work. There's instructions how to install it in the Documentation: https://soupday.github.io/cc3_unity_tools/installation.html(Note: This is actually for the HDRP version but it is exactly the same process for the zip download from the CC3_Unity_Tools_3D repository.)

Yeah, I've seen this Documentation, but indeed I shouldn't put the folder inside my project. I reinstalled it properly, and I got this error. I also redone the character build, and the character still look the same. But don't bother, it's 100% fine on my side, I can keep going with this result, no worry at all :) It's already much better than what I had before, haha x)

So now the lights doesn't bounce wierdly on the hair anymore ^^ This is happening because of the limitations of the built-in render pipeline. Namely: Transparent materials cannot receive shadows. So the opaque cut-out part of the hair is being shadowed just fine, but the alpha blended part is still being lit by the lights, which is why it has that bright ghostly outline effect. It looks like I'll need to make an opaque dithered hair shader (like the URP one) for the built-in pipeline after all.

Hair in Built in Pipeline is a pain... Interested to see what you can think of and come up with.

Depends if the hair transparency not receiving shadows is a problem or not: I've made a dithered alpha clip version of the two pass soft edge hair shader that can be swapped in. The fully opaque is darker as it casts stronger shadows on itself, but tends to look a little chunky or pixelated at longer distances. If I can add anisotropic highlights, they should both look fairly decent.

Is that new hair shader uploaded to the Git? Would like to take a look if so. Also are you planning on including demo scenes at all with these? Or perhaps some tutorial videos?

There are already tutorials videos, documentation (see above) and there's also a test scene in the package :)

Using the Built In Pipeline and brought in through package manager as stated, did not seem to bring in the test scene. Is this something you need to just drag into assets after the fact?

Actually you must put the tool outside your project, not in Assets or whatever. But you can use the tool super easily even in your own scenes. At least for me, I didn't need it ^^
