It just depends on how you define things. Projects in iClone are WAY different than CC3 (and should be). But if you want (and you really don't want to rename your projects each time) you can open up a CC3 project in iClone as shown in this thread AND save it as your default project (after you delete the avatar). From then on when you "send" an avatar into iClone it will always have the same look. Note this is NOT what MOST of us animators want -- we use CC3 as a resource for characters, NOT as a light studio.

Thanks for the tip using the default project @ Kelleytoons
Using the lights of CC3 for iClone actually improved the quality of the character in Unreal using livelink.
The better work flow would be 1. Click File >> Save Project as in CC3 2. Rename the extension from .ccProject to iProject (credit to 4u2ges) 3. Open the iProject in iClone 4. Delete the Character. 5. Click Edit >> Preferences >> Scroll Down >>>Change the Default Project to the renamed iProject (credit to Kelleytoons) 6. We can now use Send to iClone the way it should 7;.I just tested it now and it greatly improved the quality of my Character in UE4

It really seems like the rendering environment in CC3 and iclone are just plain different. I noticed these things too but with more stylized, toon-shaded stuff. Technically CC3 doesn't have a "toon shader" but if you drag an .iAtm file from iclone, it looks more clear in CC3. I think iclone was designed to be more of a real-time tool, and CC3 is more focused on getting the character to look right as you work on it. At the end of the day, neither renderer will hold a candle to unreal of omniverse down the line, so I never took it as that big a deal.

In addition to the copy/change file name (from ccProject to iProject) ,,, make sure Ambient Occlusion is turned on under the Visuals tab. and under Edit -> Preferences -> check Digital Human Shader, without:
