CC3: 75% of original size (was 669x19) - Click to enlargehttps://forum.reallusion.com/uploads/images/d37c461e-f6c1-42c6-8695-58a3.png

iClone:75% of original size (was 669x19) - Click to enlargehttps://forum.reallusion.com/uploads/images/7663dfd0-ccf9-4500-af1f-ad1a.png

This isn't a lighting thing. The eyes are literally different. The Digital Human Skin doesn't work at all. And I just bought iClone, and reinstalled it. :-( I still have NO idea what to do...

ETA: It seems like the issue is with the Realistic Human Skin sliders. It's the only thing that's really different, and it messes up whenever I try to re-apply the CC realistic eyes.

HI!

Just to let everyone know, I DID look for this in the forum before I posted, so  I apologize if there is already an answer somewhere that I couldn't find. I'm self-taught on both CC and iClone so please keep your answers as dumbed-down as possible? Thank you!

I'm pretty new to all of this and this is the first time I've posted any questions due to worrying it's something simple that I'm just missing. I have spent the greater part of a few days each on eight characters in CC3 to get them where I want them to be. Yesterday I exported one to iAvatar to animate in iClone, and was seriously disappointed to see that she lost a ton of quality. Her eyes, especially, just went flat and dead, but the rest of her has lost a lot of detail as well. I am using the new "Realistic Human Skin" sliders in CC3, but when I tried to fix her eyes in iClone with the sliders, nothing happened. I then reapplied the CC eyes within iClone to see if that would help. It worked... for a few minutes. Then the eyes went dead again.

I've looked everywhere for an answer but am running into crickets. Not only that, but everything I'm reading seems to indicate iClone specifically is not known to have quality issues. Please help!

What could be causing this, and how do I get her to look as good in iClone as she did in CC3?

Here are the screenshot examples. The first one is CC3. The second one is iClone:

A few things that may matter:

*My character is a child generated from the Baby Luna slider and modified.
*I own CC3, but my iClone is still a Trial version. I could buy iClone, but I don't want to spend that much if this issue is inherent.
*I have already tried changing the lighting, as well as copying over the same atmosphere from CC3.
*I am not using the programs for video game creation, but for animating a short.

I spent a lot of time on these characters so that they WOULDN'T look like this, so this is pretty frustrating.

Thanks again!

Might be a wild guess, but try to enable SkinGen and set the resolution to 4k. It may take a lot of time to process all textures, depending on your PC. After that, disable the SkinGen session and hit export. This way all textures will be at max possible quality.

Also, it might be something with your preview settings in iClone. Try to render the simple scene to see if the character will look better.

quality issue is because your not using the same lighting/enviroment as cc
its been awhile since i opened  them, but pretty sure you can
copy the enviroment over to iclone and set as default project
so they match.
or just go through the  enviroments until you find one you like

Have you checked that the Project Color Management is set to PBR and not Traditional in the Project settings?

Thank you, but it's different than that. I'm home now and able to post screenshots, so I'm going to do that now. I think maybe it'll show better what I mean. :)

in case it helps ...
YES
it is possible to match the render of the two programs.
The problem is that by default all the parameters of both programs are set differently.
It is about matching both parameters that significantly affect the final render.
You should make sure to copy these elements (they can be saved in a CC library and then opened in IClone.
-LIGHTS
-CAMERA
-IBL
-POST EFFECTS
-AO effects
-IClone PROJECT to PBR mode

The result is not 100% accurate, (I adjust the Ligths manually) but it looks a lot like it.
At least in my experience

Thanks, but I'm not sure what you mean by copy the elements. Do you mean to go into all of them and literally copy/paste the numbers into iClone?

Remember, please dumb it down for me. LOL

It's been proven many times here, that there is absolutely no difference while rendering and setting project up in iClone and CC.

To prove it to yourself do:
Save project in CC
Go to the location of the saved project and rename extension from .ccProject to .iProject
Open that project in iClone and compare
