The 11 Second Club has a monthly contest (as reported elsewhere on this forum).  They provide a sound file with 11 seconds of dialog and you have to create an animation. No additonal sound or music can be used.  I decided to give it a go. My entry is a bit rough as I only started 4 days before the deadline... 

But iClone (I used v4) allows you to work fast.  I did the lipsynching in CrazyTalk 6 to be able to correct the visemes. The final MP4 video was created in Vegas (although no real editing was needed for this).

christy and shy, thanks for your kind words...  The voters at a the 11 Second Club didn't particularly like it, I was 139 out of 142...

I think it's a different world; there is a preconceived notion of what animation should look like... There were many entries that looked very similar to me, using almost the same rigs, as if they were part of a class project.  There were also a number that were not very well executed and very crude in the transition between shots, for example.  But they felt within the preconceived notion and were considered acceptable.

I don't think there were many entries that were made with machinima-like programs such as iClone, so it's probably much too alien for the viewers.

Nonetheless, I enjoyed the challenge and I may try again in the future, just for fun...
