Hi Guys,

I really need some help!
I am using iClone 7 and I need to be able to rig an object like a velcro strap, and be able to bend it and wrap it around a character's arm. Please could someone out there tell me how to do that? and point me to some tutorials on how to do this?

Best

Not enough detail to know whether you modelled the object in a 3D modeller and importing it into iclone through 3DXchange?
If that is the case then here is one option that I might use to do what I think your saying.

Morph creator gives us the ability to create animatable objects
ie, let the character add that to their arm and have it being wraped around the arm in the animation

Hi Delerna,
Thank you for your information, sorry about not giving you more details so here goes:
I have created a Velcro strip object in blender I need to animate the Velcro strip object wrapping around the arm in iClone. The Velcro strip object will hold another item to the arm. I need to show this process. I have already attached that object to the arm in iClone. Now I need to show the strip wrapping around the arm. I am creating this for a product demo how to use video so I really need to Velcro strip object to be shown wrapping around the product..

Blender is what I use and this morph creation is a pretty simple thing to do, especially for something like this Velco strip.

Here is a link to an example I did for filling a cup with alcohol from a bottle and then have the character drink it.
I have linked this to where I showed how I modelled it, may give you some ideas.

I also did bed modelling for a character to get into and out of bed using morphing
This one is along the line of what you want to do I think. Its just this is wrapping over the whole body where as you only want to wrap it around an arm

I also used this process to create beach waves, which I am still working on to improve ( especially with the new particle abilities in iclone 7)

I am also working now on an animatable snake for my harry potter fan fiction story. I also did the bed for that as well

Anyway if you want to give this a try and you have any questions then post them and I will be one who will be happy to help you out as much I can.
This should be pretty easy as a staring point for this method

Oh and here is another one did using morph creater.

As to whether this is something you should try. This is something you need to decide for yourself.
It doesn't please everyone and that's acceptable. It does please me though and I find it easy and enjoyable to do
