@RickyI see where you're coming from regards stability, cause for me also, it's a vital element. Nothing worse than using a program when you're constantly worried it might crap-out on you. Apart from one bug I know of in iClone5.5, she's never crashed on me, not ever, so that at least tells me Reallusion take the stability side seriously. All I can say its to bear in mind that iClone 6 isn't finished yet and they're implementing a new way of dealing with the very thing you're concerned about - bugs. Hopefully that new bug-tracker thingummy they announced will help make iClone6 and beyond as super-rock-solid as iClone 5.5 is for me.
I think Reallusion are well aware by now, how attractive iClone7 is going to be, not just to current iClone users, but to DS and Poser users. The worst thing they can do is release a big-ridden iClone7 at such a potentially lucrative step in iClone's evolution. Bringing this new tracker into play was a good move and I hope people will use it, and use it properly. When I look at the stability they managed to give iClone5.5, it's not hard to imagine that iClone7 (and 6 by the time they finished with it) will be equally dependable. Just like you, that's what I'm hoping anyway
:)I also agree that the future isn't about photorealism, but it
is about being able to do whatever is in our minds-eye, so the ability to do photorealism is vital for those who need it, and PBR will give us that. The future is Realtime, and just as I warned the Poser peeps way back, I told them iClone is their biggest threat, not DS, but no one ever listens to me despite I'm right 99% of the time! The problem was that Realtime in iClone was previously hindered due to the quality of the realtime renderer, but that's about to change due to PBR. When it does, Reallusion are going to suck-up DS and Poser users like a sponge, cause those users simply won't be able to resist the combination of Character Creator and a Realtime photrealistic rendering environment. Once those Ex-DS and Ex-Poser "stills" customers are happy posing and rendering in realtime, they'll eventually come to realise what iClone is really all about, and will be mind-blown at the animation tools it already has. So then they finally realise ... hang on a minute ... I'm using the easiest character generator ever ... I'm posing ... I'm rendering it all in realtime and I can even make movies now due to the instant render speed and super-powerful animation tools ... this is freaking awesome!!!
Reallusion can't fail as long as they don't screw it up, and they market it the way they
should market it. They have a lot of financial reward coming their way, and they deserve it, because when they finally bring these features to iClone, Reallusion will be the first company ever to bring all the major essential elements into one desirable program - an easy to use realtime photorealistic environment that works natively with figures and has powerful animation tools.
Remember, give people what they
actually want and what the program
actually needs, and they will buy it
;)
@sw00000pI think it's cool that you refer to iClone as a "she", I do the same thing with my audio gear and will follow your lead for iClone too
