Hi All

I am new to this software and I have rigged a character using accuRIG and downloaded the motion and actor in C4D R19 flavour. I import the actor and then merged it with the motion file. Then I use the re-target tag on the root joint to apply the motion to my character. It works but there seems to be an offset and the joints don't seem to line up exactly - don't get this? Is this because there is no proper C4D pipeline like Maya, Blender, UE, Unity and 3DS?

Bit annoying and also I notice that even though I stipulate 30 fps the actor seems to come in at 60 fps and then when I do the retargeting the character plays back slow and I have to change the FPS to 15.

Any tips appreciated.

Is this because there is no proper C4D pipeline like Maya, Blender, UE, Unity and 3DS?
I can’t comment on the game engines or 3Ds but I have Maya and Blender
the Maya “pipeline" from accurig is just vanilla FBX export but Reallusion does provide a
Maya HumanIK rigging profile to convert your Character  Maya HIK then Maya's animation tools do the work of retargeting my actorcore motions.

For Blender there is a separate Pipeline addon ,created by a single user, to import FBX from Accurig
convert the characters rigging to Blender native control rig & retarget  actor core motions ,including facial animation from CC3/4.)
But there are also non reallusion addons to retarget actorcore motions to the Blender rigify
control rig as well.

Maxon C4D does not have a useful NATIVE  general purpose retargeting system other than that old one that only works with Mixamo rigged Characters.

The video ,linked by PeterRL, is by a very promising Actorcore retargeting solution
with a Control rig ,created by a private individual, which is likely to be your best option ,(if its development continues) other than applying the actor core motions in iclone and importing the character from CC4 already animated for rendering.

I always import an animated character including the motion from iClone into C4D (Export as FBX, 30 FPS set in export dialogue) and don't do any re-targeting in C4D. No issues.

If you have iClone then I suggest that you combine the character and the motion before exporting to C4D; I'm not familiar with a workflow directly from AccuRig (since I don't use that) in case you don't have iClone.

If you go directly from the free standalone Accurig ,to any of the 3DCC’s,

you only get a. FK bone rigged figure in the importing app with no animation.

Your importing app has to have the ability to retarget your Actor core motion files inside the program.

The “retarget tag” in C4D is a bit infamous for its lack of reliable results.
If the OP Does not have Iclone there is nothing Reallusion can do here, other than what PeterRL already suggested
(or purchase Iclone 8/CC4).
