Up to now, I have easily bought my products through Paypal, paying cash with no problems. Today, suddenly, the shopping cart started demanding that I buy points, and wouldn't let me check out otherwise. Did I do something wrong?

You didn't do anything wrong.

The Marketplace uses DA Points for purchases. This is because the payment goes to the individual developer rather than directly to Reallusion. This has always been the case.

The Software Store and Content Store both accept payments using PayPal.
