there is a bug in head shot
it goes like this your working on a head shot based model CC crashes
after you open the restore file the headshot image is missing but your character is in the viewport
if you then click headshot image matcing tool activation check box the character in the viewport seems to vanish.. unclick image matching tool check box its still gone
just a grey screen..though it seemed when i used viewport navigation tools the char reappeared. This has happened several times.
Seems like a bug. thanks

I have to check, but I think I reported that.

It's been a while, but if you save the character after the crash and then reload it again, the Headshot image will reappear. Try that.

hey again animagic im not sure if you have experinced this ..but it seems recurring
you input your headshot image hit go..the import dialog comes up and starts 
to do things..it hits 60% specifically in every case and sits..im not sure what its doing
so i click the dialog box and pops up the windows 10 churning blue ball..then soon after it completes the task
im not sure its supposed to do that or not. seems like a possible bug.
