Does somebody knows how to achieve a "translucency" (opacity) on a video panel?
Below is the sequence where I want to make such effect, ie to make the HUD like being on a thin glass panel. Opacity to the panel itself obviously doesn't solve it, so I tried to stack another panel either above, either below the video panel but it failed miserably. If the HUD itself would be in a fixed position, I think I could achieve that effect by video editing in post-production, but it will move, it's not intended to be static. So I have no idea. Even it will remain like this it will not be a tragedy, looks quite OK, but I would like to make it a bit better.
Thanks

I have done this for a static screen:

What I have here is an image with an Alpha channel with the text white and background gray to make that background somewhat visible. Then I have Self-illumination at 100%. The rim is part of the image, but you can leave it out if you want rimless.

For a moving image you would need a video with an Alpha channel (which you can't have in iClone), or one video in the Diffuse channel and a video representing the desired opacity in the Opacity channel.

I believe Pop Video does that for you but you can also do that yourself in a video editor. Make the image gray-scale and play with the contrast.

Thank you very much, @animagic!
Apart from "dimmed" background, I've done the same. But now, reading your comment, I think I figured out where the problem might be: in my case, in the Opacity video, the background is fully, 100% black, which means is fully transparent; so I will try in the video editing to make it gray-er, therefore making it a bit opaque - so dimmer.
Thanks a lot :)

And, voila! Worked like a charm (I had no patience to wait until tomorrow to try)
Thanks again, @animagic!
