I have a scene with lots of props attached to different characters (not sure of the amount) I have come to a point where I am trying to attach a prop using parent but with no success. If I use the character and prop by themselves in a new project there is no problem. Can anyone throw some light on this?

Props remain Props when linked to a character, but become Accessories when attached to a character.

Once a prop is attached to a character, save it as an accessory and you can use it again for other characters, but the hierarchy for attachment is One level -- in other words you can't attach a prop to a character and then attach another prop to that prop...you can attach as many as your system can handle to the parent though.

If you want to keep the level down, merge the props and then attach.

Without knowing what you are actually doing, that's about all the light I can shed...perhaps with a little bit of shadow thrown in. :rolleyes:
