Hi all, I just got and installed the city elements suburban streets with the bonus shopping street, however the shopping street shows up in my content browser as a little black box with grey question mark?

If I right click and find file it takes me to the folder and shows me its alias of the actual vns file. Is that normal.

I have tried installing as a download and using the rld method both result in the same problem.

Any one else had an issue with this?
I'm using the very latest update of iclone 6 on Windows 8.1

VNS files need to be renamed to iProp in order to work.

 Thank you for your reply, I have tried to rename the file as a .iProp as you suggested and also the file that it references, but it still doesn't work.

If I drag the file the referenced file onto the iclone stage, I can see a preview of the street in its icon but it has the little red can't drag icon superimposed on it.

Any VNS file renamed to iProp should load correctly -- I'd have to see exactly what you are talking about (I'm going to take a nap but when I wake up I'll look at my own directories, because I do have City Elements and needed to rename stuff to iProp to work).

I've just got this pack as well, and all I had to do was change the extension from VNS to iProp, which should be all that's needed. So I also don't understand what you mean by reference.

The file should be under: ...\Reallusion\Template\iClone 6 Template\iClone Template\Props\City Elements\Bonus\ with the name Shopping Street.iprop.

I have that pack, with everything renamed from .VNS to .iProp, and they all open in iClone 6 without problems. Could you describe just how you are renaming the items?

I'm not a noob in regards to computers or 3d but I am a mac user having my first fumble around a pc, so I fully expect this to be my fault :)

my file is exactly where it should be, as written by animagic.
I don't know if this is the same for you, but the file in iclones content browser is actually in
Reallusion/Template/iclone 6 Template/ iclone Template / Pack/ City Elements / Suburban Streets
and its installed as Shoppong Street.vns

however that file is an alias(shortcut) to the actual file which is where you said it should be i.e.
..\Reallusion\Template\iClone 6 Template\iClone Template\Props\City Elements\Bonus\ with the name Shopping Street.iprop.  

I have tried to change both of these files to Shopping Street.iProp but still no joy.

I'm going to have another go at uninstalling and re installing fresh.

 In this case it was my PC hiding the extension that was the problem. PC's "sigh".....   joke :)
Your advice tipped me off to what I should be doing so thank you.
Once I the PC was showing the hidden extensions the rename did the trick.

Glad you got it working.

Extensions are a kind of a weird workaround to having the software identify the type of file it needs.  In this particular case it's even odder, since iClone can very obviously open up a VNS file, just not one with that extension (so iClone 6 really should have had that backward capability -- would have taken a programmer literally two seconds to allow it).
