I have a project with G5 Gwynn. The other day I wanted to make Gwynn talk...As far as I know LipSync is a separate software sold by RL but the character's lips can be adjusted manually without it, correct? I noticed that on the Timeline there is a Lips Editor and when I click on it, it seems to have a bunch of mouth arrangements or different sounds. The arrangements are even nicely labelled. Obviously using the LipSync software would be easier but for some short speaking this would be sufficient for me. The problem is that all of the selections were disabled. I am fairly sure I had Gwynn selected when I was trying this. Any idea why I would not be able to select the mouth arrangements in Lips Editor? Is this for G6 characters only? Is this disabled because I don't have the LipSync software?

lipsynch software ? first I ever heard of it - maybe you are talking about the daz duf / profile that configures the visemes on daz characters automatically ? ( which can also be done manual, which Reallusion has made free ? )

G5 Gwynn talks with lip sync using the Facial animation tab in the Animation menu, where you can either load an audio file for her voice, or type the text you want her to say, and then chose a voice for her... and yes, you need to be clicked on her avatar to be able to access her animation menus... and if you want to edit her visemes, then you just double click on them in the timeline... but I must be misunderstanding your question, because that's really basic... and you're a tutor?... so apologies if you already know this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qahyP3kGpEQ

Hi L.A. You need to create a script. Record some speech, import a wave file, or input some using TTS. Once a speech is clip is there, then you can can change the separate visemes by clicking on them.

don't take a lot of notice of the titles under user names we are automatically awarded certain titles after a certain number of posts and/or time registered on the forum I'm also apparently a tutor, but really only know the basics The other titles are fine, but I wish RL would remove the 'tutor' title unless someone is actually nominated as a tutor. It is very misleading otherwise...

I started with iClone a long time ago (v3, I think), didn't like it very much, and left for a couple of years. I came back with v5 as a total novice, and discovered I had achieved "Tutor" status based on the age of my forum account.

My Bad...I confuse the names of the RL product (CrazyTalk) with DAZ Studio's implementation of a similar function (LipSync).

Bleetz (6/4/2015) G5 Gwynn talks with lip sync using the Facial animation tab in the Animation menu, where you can either load an audio file for her voice, or type the text you want her to say, and then chose a voice for herCool! Even better! I though that I would have to animate the speech manually. Bleetz (6/4/2015) and if you want to edit her visemes, then you just double click on them in the timeline...What is the difference between that and using the Facial animation? I though that visemes were just facial expressions created to look like someone saying a particular sound (i.e. the appearance of speech is created by stringing a bunch of visemes together). Or is that what the Facial Animation tab does...generates a bunch of visemes into the timeline? Bleetz (6/4/2015) but I must be misunderstanding your question, because that's really basic... and you're a tutor?Unfortunetly the "Tutor" status is given to anyone who has made enough posts in the forum...regardless if they are questions or answers. This means that a newbie who ask a tonne of question can escalate his status to Veteran or Tutor just as well as someone who performs the same amount of posts but providing answers (i.e. a real Tutor). I have been using iClone for only a couple months. I do *try* to answer people's posts if I know the answer but there is still a lot that I do not know...some of it being really basic stuff like this. Thanks for the post. I will check it out when I get home. I my opinion, providing more information (that the user may already partially know) is still a much better answer than posting not enough information...so thanks.

Once a speech is clip is there, then you can can change the separate visemes by clicking on them. Is this why my Lip Editor (on the TimeLine) does not seem to allow me to select anything?...Because I need to provide a WAV file in order for the Lip Editor to allow visime selections?
