I have a problem when I export a Genesis 2 in 3dxchange after updating 3dxchange and the .duf file for genesis 2. It seems not to merge the clothes to the skeleton character. There 2 skeletons
imported in 3dxchange.... Could someone help me ? Thank you.

Have you tried "Selecting All" before exporting and "Parenting" the clothing to the Base Model?

Then when you export choose the "Selected" option, shown unchecked in your image.

Thank you Criky, What I had discover is that when I double-clic the clothes in daz , it's not parented to the character, I've have to do it manually... And of course right-clic on the clothe to
make it perfect fit to the body. I didn't find any tutorial talking about the must have parenting clothes.

And know it works...

There is no "mandatory" use of the parenting option, or even the "Select All" option, it just happens to be work when all other things fail; dependent on the model and the clothing designed for the model of course. I choose both options consistently and it hasn't failed me yet.

Either way, it worked and that was the goal.

Thanks for that tip Cricky. Have you noticed if the animation comes across? I have not had a change to download the latest version yet, and tonight is not going to allow me a chance to try.

Thanks

Yes, the animation applied to the timeline in DAZ does transfer.

Then would that dragon fly machine come across with all of that animation we laid out in DAZ , or is that not treated as a character? I think I am still confusing props and avatars (characters like gen 2). Do we now have a way to change the export to iClone6 to something other than a prop?

Thanks

As far as I know, props with animation that DAZ treats as characters do not transfer. I 've always found that a peculiar approach, which is proprietary to Poser and DAZ.

If the prop could be exported as an FBX file with animations attached to it, it might work. You could easily check that using Autodesk's FBX viewer (part of the FBX converter). In that case 3DXchange can do something with it.

I'm no DAZ expert, so maybe there is a way that I'm not aware of. But a prop with animations is not considered a character in 3DXchange.

Yes, that is the puzzling thing with DAZ.  The DAZ file for this vehicle has animation.  When you export as FBX and bring it into 3DXchange, you can see all the bones and animation.  When you go to export the file to iClone, that is when it turns into a prop and all is lost by having it be just one prop, no levels of bones.  It would be okay if the animation was the only thing lost as I can animate the doors and such myself.  But I cannot even select the door to animate it in iClone6 with the 3DXchange file.

@Matthew: Are you able to create sub props for the various parts?

That would be a way to make them animatable. You just need to adjust the pivots, so that a door  properly turns, for example.
