Coming Up this weekend at the Bigboss Treasures Store... :) This is a first Pack of a series on the ''Concert Crowd Theme'' but I need your suggestions on other Themes that are of interest to you. NOTE: These avatars are detailed enough to be used in Close-Up Takes!!! . Let me know if you like the concept ... :) ! Cheers! SNEAK PREVIEW:

Really beautiful, really useful work, Guy, THANKS! :w00t: The synchronized movement is quite impressive, but if each of the people-props get their own timeline, you might mention that the behavior can be made even more natural and random by tweaking the start times along the timeline. Since you asked for additional crowd ideas, perhaps you would like to look at the film that was very inspirational in scripting my own short, the silent " The Lost World." I'm not interested in the dinos--I'm only interested in the crowd who is listening to the lecture. The heckling and angry behavior is great dramatic stuff. It would make a brilliant complement to your new product. I would definitely love to have it. Again, congratulations, and thanks for being such a key member of the community. :)

Very Good!! A suggestion would be maybe for a soccer game or baseball. The avatar starts in a sitting position. A Goal or Home run is made so the avatars stands up and then does the motions you already have. Just a thought even though it will not be any good for me as I don't own iC5 :D Good luck.

If you apply this to large crowd representing rock concert I am concerned about memory requirements. Warlord has some low poly crowds, but they are very cartoonish looking. Also his concert crowds just sway around, no hands in the air or other possible motions.
Is there was a way to use crowds and not use all your memory when trying to build a video. I have 8 gig ram on my dev computer, but I only have q6600 processor and 512MB video card.
Maybe there is low poly way to do this you can find.

These characters are optimized to fit most application. You see 15K polys per character and this include the Hair Mesh Prop attached to the character which can be removed if necessary. When you replicate the character, you get another instance of the mesh and motion vectors in memory but common material files are shared among characters. You really have complete control on what you want shared and what not and you can even move characters around to fit any position you want inside the group as they are all separate prop instances attached to a common invisible dummy. Basically, you can build the crowd any way you want and with any number of character you need. When applying a motion segment, it is visible on the timeline and so you can also edit that and adapt to your needs for each character. But in essence, this product is made for "Small Crowds", whereby you need good looks for closeup shots. I would say you can load in the area of 40-50 characters into a single scene which is quite good. I found them quite a time saver and very practicle in my applications.. Cheers!

I think this is a clever accomplishment and a very good idea! There are some other tricky ways to do crowds, but this are very convincing! I think the best so far! Good job, BB!
