There are listings all over the net for "free 3d models". The sites I have found so far want u to install "PDF Reader" to get them and every time I have downloaded that crap I ended up with adware. Are there other sources for getting free or even buying 3d models?

1) You don't need a PDF Reader to Download anything. That's a Scam, recently reported in the UK National Press.

2) Thousands of Free 3D Models on Google 3D Warehoues. But you need Reallusion's 3DXchange Program, to Import them into iClone.

Www.Turbosquid.com is a nice place - not so many free models, but some and others are very expensive. I found some good stuff and can use what imports well into my programs. It's structured well for searching and do require a bit caution and time to seek out good ones that doesn't cost a fortune and have reasonable polycount. Most are Royalty Free license.

pretty much everything is in .rar or .max and I dont have a tool to convert either of these formats, and suggestions?? dont have 3500 to get autodesk.

and or asks for a password??? and the zip includes some earn money docs?? are these safe and where do u get the password from?

RAR is just a compression format, like ZIP.

I use the free RAR Extract Frog at: http://www.philipp-winterberg.com/software/free_rar_extract_frog.php. Silly name but it works.

I saw some .3ds files on the 3dXtra, which 3DXchange can handle.  There are many other sites, but I don't remember their URLS off-hand. The way I find them is just use Google or Bing or whatever and search...

The main problem I found is that models with reasonable quality are often high-poly and not that useful for iClone.

.rar files with passwords you have the right to use are just empty passwords (don't type anything and accept).
