Cricky (12/22/2011)
I used basically the same plant as a beard on Chuck (Character does not really matter) and linked it to his jawbone. I of course had to scale it down and position it differently, but it works for a Hippy beard* (*something seen quite frequently during the 70's).

...It really is too bad the plants can't be edited for color as noted here in the comments..

(1) I don't get it--I know that in the past I've changed the texture on some embedded grass. How is this different?

(2) I'm intrigued by the possibilities, too. Does anybody think we ought to start lobbying Reallusion to actually create a dynamic hair product based on this technology????

EDIT: Re: (1) Now I see that embedded Grass can't be linked.

I also had never noticed in the past they could be linked either, but the need made me test a few options before realizing it and settling on it as a viable solution.

I used basically the same plant as a beard on Chuck (Character does not really matter) and linked it to his jawbone. I of course had to scale it down and position it differently, but it works for a Hippy beard* (*something seen quite frequently during the 70's).

Using the Effects "Color Adjust" you can always do your scene as intended in color and make the character invisible during that render; and then overlay a capture of the same scene making everything else invisible except the characters beard and with the color settings for the Color Adjust set closer to Black and White to avoid the plant color. If you don't do the overlay thing, the character ends up having a "Spinach Beard" or whatever else color plant is used.

It really is too bad the plants can't be edited for color as noted here in the comments. I believe they originated as Speedtree Plants (not sure though). It could open up a new set of uses for their plants formed into various hair shapes.

Just another Sample for which many ideas should be formed such as: Turning one of the plants upside down and creating a Beard for Father Time perhaps?

This one is from the Reallusion Nature Builder Flowers and Grass
named : Broom Snakeweed_Flower - Wind Settings on this = 7
