Hi!

I just bought CC4/headshot 2 bundle from the sales and started using it. I'm mainly doing my modeling & animation work in blender, but I'm having lots of problems with exporting from CC4 and importing to blender. I've installed the addon in Blender and pipeline in reallusion hub as instructed, and my first problem was with not getting the Blender pipeline to show in CC4. I got the plugin to show in CC by manually unzipping the plugin in the "open plugin"-folder, but still wasnt able to export .fbx using CC. When I tried to export, even the .fbx-file would not appear in the destination I tried to export to.

Both of these problems were solved by running CC4 as admistrator, after I did that I got the plugin to show in CC4 from the installer and the exporting seems to work now. Homewer I'm still having a problem with importing to Blender. When I try to import the fbx to blender using CC/IC Pipeline, I get an error message "No objects in import!" (screenshot below).

I hope someone can help me because I bought the software solely for using with blender and now I'm unable to use it for anything I was supposed to.

Thanks in advance!

I have just figured out how to solve my problems using this pipeline. My steps were following:

1. Run CC4 as adminstrator, this solved the Blender pipeline-plugin not showing up in plugins and being unable to export FBX-files from CC.

2. In Blender I had the built-in FBX-addon disabled. This caused the imported FBX-file to seem empty in Blender.

Hope this helps someone else!

Sounds like you're trying to save files in locations you don't have permission to access. You shouldn't need to be in Administrator mode to write files. If Character Creator can't write to a location, the chances are Blender won't be able to read from it either.

Try importing the Fbx into Blender using the standard Fbx importer (File > Import > Fbx). Check that the character model is actually there.

Check your file permissions where you trying to save to.
Another consideration is that when Character Creator exports a file, it first writes to the Temporary files usually located in:
C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Local\Temp\CharacterCreator4Temp
Running out of space on that drive can cause export problems, as will file permission problems to that folder.

Ty for quick reply!

The solutions to my problems were following:

1. Run CC4 as adminstrator (for some reason my computer didnt even create the export files before doing this)

2. The built-in fbx-addon in Blender wasn't enabled so the fbx seemed empty in blender's eyes. After enabling this (simple enough if you know to look for it) everything works fine. Haven't had the need to use fbx-files in blender before, and I don't know if this addon is enabled by default.

TY for help!

I should put in a check for this with a warning message. I never considered the possibility the FBX importer could be disabled.
