Be aware (if you are not), Kaspersky lab products were banned on US territory (I was not even aware myself until this afternoon when I saw a new icon in the tray).
As a result, Kaspersky internet security suite was uninstalled overnight and rolled to UltraAV (a US based company) automatically.

An hour ago I lost access to all RL apps (IC8, CC4). It was reporting "Initialization Failed.." as I start any of them.

First I figured it's a result of the latest CC4 patch somehow installed improperly today.
So I uninstalled IC/CC and tried to reinstall, which failed right away.

That is when I figured it's a new UltraAV is causing an issue.
And for sure, RL setup.exe was throwing a Trojan detection in logs (I hope it's False-Positive).

So I disabled an "Active Monitor" and reinstalled IC/CC just fine.

Send a request to UltraAV and waiting for reply...

If anyone has UltraAV installed, please share tips...

This post should probably get more visibility as if you have Kaspersky, UltraAV gets installed automatically without your consent. They think they're doing you a favor so I get it since they bought out Kaspersky USA but really 1) they didn't give a choice/ask if you want to install their software & 2) it's conflicting with RL software.

Yeah, sigh.. They claim in the article (I still have not gotten any reply from the support) that the email was sent to all Kaspersky users about the switch, but some users did not receive it.
That's refreshing alright..

I am really unhappy with the switch. I mean, I do not blame Kaspersky, they were kicked out of the USA and found some substitute for us.
But the sub is utterly terrible. It keeps blacklisting apps (including Chrome and other legit apps, not to mention RL apps).
And I keep moving them across to White list. But even those whitelisted, I have to start CC4 a few times with error before it finally gets fired up.

Maybe it just needs to settle, which I hope, otherwise I will take it down.

Microsoft Defender is pretty good (according to reports). I have added Malwarebytes, which is now my main protective app.

Yes, I have to start shopping around and research.
Had Kaspersky for over a decade (used to buy a license for 3 computers with 3 years update for a good price).
It was very much seamless - you forget it was there...

Update: I demolished that mindless UltraAV app from my system and settled with Bitdefender.
It's not as advanced for fine tuning as Kaspersky used to be, but still pretty decent.
Had to exclude all RL apps due to a painfully slow startup. But now all seems to be running fine and fast.
