Hi Group

I'm quite new to CA5 and Inkscape, and the problem I'm seeing is almost certainly me not knowing how to use Inkscape properly but I'm hoping someone knowledgeable will have an answer for me...

I'm just trying to change an existing character's Root>Hip sprite by editing it in Inkscape, i.e., launching Inkscape from within CA5's composer and tweaking some of the existing default layer content.

If I just change colours or add some shapes it works great (at least some shapes - freehand and spirals work, but stars and polygons don't for some reason), and I learned the hard way that if I include text that I have to Path>Object to Path the text object otherwise the text doesn't display when I go back to CA5.

But now I want to include a logo onto a shirt. Once Inkscape is launched from within CA5, I can import the logo and get it all nice in Inkscape, but the logo doesn't appear with the workflow takes me back to CA5.

Does anyone have an idea as to what extra step I have to take in Inkscape to make the extra imported logo come back into CA5? I'm hopeful that if I can crack that issue, the other shapes I've mentioned earlier will be resolved similarly.

Thanks for any insights you might have.

Hi PeteB,

https://forum.reallusion.com/uploads/images/47aa66e1-a71f-4b98-96a2-5314.png

Try this:
-Go to composer
-In the sprite editor select the hip
-Push the button edit in vector editor
-In Inkscape import your logo
-Select the image and Logo and click on "Group"
-Export as a PNG file and save it on your disc.
-Go back to the Cartoon animator and select in the sprite editor the hip
-Go to replace the current element
-Import the PNG file
-And there is the hip with the logo....

It's a workaround but I hope it helps.
Here it works.

Best Regards,
Arie
