I asked the RL development team about the exact purpose of the symbol and got the following answer: the purpose of the icon is to pin Tracks. when you activate the object relative track function, it will automatically switch target's track according your selection, sometimes we want the specific track to show all the time, you can pin it with that icon, and the status will keep within the project, once you close the track, the pin track status will gone Testing is fun, but quick correct answers are easier.:smooooth:

Yes Wires is correct, its an asset lock for the timeline editor and really is usefull for anything you are keyframing and you don't want to keep pulling back up, it's great for camera and lights, but works with any asset. I have a seperate monitor for my timeline so I keep all the current animated items locked while I need them there, but it fills up quite quickly if you don't unlock them before moving on to the next bit of animation. One of the best features they've introduced for keyframe editing, and so simple.

True, there is no information whatsoever in the user manual regarding this symbol.:blink:
A test has turned up the following possible solution.
The screen shot below shows 3 assets on the Timeline - Reflector_04, Kevin and Reflector_05 with "Object Related Track" and "Show Same Track Types" selected. The unknown icons after Reflector_04 and Kevin are selected and displayed in green, while the same icon after Reflector_05 is white. Reflector_05 is selected on the Timeline and is the only item of the 3 visible in the Track Menu List. Normally, with "Object Related Track" selected the other 2 assets should not show on the Timeline when another item is active. Also all 3 items should be visible on the Track Menu List. 76% of original size (was 664x19) - Click to enlarge
This symbol appears to be a selection lock keeping objects visible on the Timeline even when another item is selected in the scene whether "Object Related Track" is selected or not.
Not the best description, but the best that I can come up with.
I am quite sure that Peter(RL) will be able to provide us with a complete explanation as to the exact purpose of the symbol.:smooooth::Whistling:
