I so agree with you, transferring CC hair to UE gives so much headache with trying to fix the physics capsules, and hair paint etc... and then the hair still doesn't look proper at times and just flops on the head. I wasted 2 days trying to fix hair issues already. Wish there was a way to convert the cc hair to groom and get done with it. rosuckmedia (5/23/2022)
Thanks a lot Bassline, But there are many RL users who would like to use the Iclone hair. I do not understand why it is in RL Content Store, There are no developers for GroomHair. We need urgent improvements für die Pipeline. Greetings rosuckmedia

Hello everyone! Has anyone been able to use the Extended Facial Profile successfully in Unreal 5? I have a character which I made in CC3 that I've applied the Extended Profile to, then I've sent it to iClone 8 where I use a moCap I made with Rokoko on him and add Acculips and Facial Animation using Motion Live. Finally I have the CC4 character in Unreal but with the UE4 Mannequin Skeleton and I import the animation from iClone but the face desn't seem to animate, only the jaw opens and closes. If I use the old model with the Traditional Profile, it works. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Try to import your CC4 Character again with all extended morphs applied not only the Traditional.

But you know how to do groom in Blender or convert hair cards to groom. So make a "Rob the Robert Barber Shop" in the Reallusion Content Store.... 😁

Wrapped DAZ Cloth to CC4 in UE5 : You can transform DAZ Cloth to CC4 but I often get poke thrus with animations and you have to hide body parts in CC4. The advantage of uDraper wrapping is that you don't have to hide body meshes (no poke thrus) and so you can use Alpha Cutout or Transparent materials and it reacts to morphs.

Bassline303 (5/23/2022) Great Rob ! 👍 You know how it is , animated hair cards will never look as good as groom in UE5 , from CC , DAZ , Epic Marketplace or where ever else. There is a trick with groom to use less performance with physics. When importing your custom made groom (from Blender for example) decrease the guide count to 0.01 or 0.001 in the groom import settings... less guides = more fps ! So you made groom with 50.000 strands and decrease the guide count to 0.01 you get 500 guides ... with 0.001 you get 50 guides. Guides are used to drive physics and the strands will follow.... with 50 guides the physics look still good and performance is great. Less guides = better performance , more guides = better quality.
This is only possible with the original Groom Alembic file , not with already imported Grooms. Some developers of Groom on the Epic Marketplace will give you the original Alembic files when you are asking.
For me, I've never been able to get RL hair to look good, so either using grooms now or for very stylized using poly hair.

Hey guys I am trying to figure out which is the best way make custom hair - as 'realistic' as possible but without killing the GPU. So many good tips on this forum and from what I understand creating alembic grooms seems to be the best way to go. Blender would be my main preference (cos of $$) but online I see a lot of small 'studios' using Maya. Is the quality really that much better than Blender? If so, does anyone have any experience working with either: 1. Maya + Xgen 2. Maya + Ornatrix 3. Another 3D application / solution Thanks in advance for any help

This is correct ! And I know RL is working on an Update for CC_Setup to improve the hair cards quality. If what you say is true, I hope we get a good result. Of course, I hope they fix not only the hair but also the textures. I must say that no matter what feature of the iC8 I examine, I see its perfection once again. Today I created a simple animation with a video reference and was once again amazed by the program. When plugins are developed and full compatibility between UE5 and CC programs is achieved, no one can stop me anymore. I trust the RL team. I'm sure there's nothing the RL team can't do. They're a great team.
