The "collections" feature is a big improvemnet on the old "plug in" but to make it easier and faster would it not be be possible to arrange items by DRAG & DROP instead of having to open a panel to "send it" to required 'collection' which by the way is more commonly refferred to as grouping in other software. ?

simplemindedproductions2021 (3/26/2022) Will iclone 8 and Cc4 let us sculpt or rig our own characters? No. In CC4 you will be able to heavily modify existing characters from almost any source but not build a character from scratch.

This all looks so wonderful, I think I bought the previous version at the right time to really learn a lot about the software, and i hope this version is even better. one thing I'm not seeing anything on is if there is going be anything new for sky options? I still haven't figured out how to get a good sky loaded in, eery option seems either really limited, or only works lo res

When you say heavily modify, do you just mean in rigging, or do you mean like applying the slider function to outside models to change the characters look (instead of just modifying expression sliders and such)

Hello, always excited for all of these features for iClone 8 but are we going to be able to change the size of a character in the timeline? This feature is available on Daz and Poser pro, and was usefull for all of my fantasy projects when I worked on these softwares in the past. Now I work with iClone which is better for many others features and can't go back with Daz or Poser pro. But I really miss the "size feature in the timeline for characters" and don't understand why we have this kind of "limitation" in an animation software.

I love it... kinda reminds me of Carrara Pro 8.5. With Carrara you can also group items... and the simplicity reminds me of MovieMaker :-)
Will you also be able to hide items on the timeline?

iClone 8 Work in Progress III - Productivity & Performance | Modular Scene Manager
In this WIP III video, Reallusion demonstrates how iClone8 has significantly optimised real-time performance for editing 3D animation within large scenes. Including highly enhanced response time when it comes to selecting and toggling visibility of hundreds of items, along with a newly introduced static data type to double the rendering speed for static objects.
The Scene Manager’s new Collection feature allows one to organize assets into logical groupings, so they can be collectively shown and hidden, allowing for GPU load-balancing to render targeted objects at full-speed. Collections can also be easily transformed and duplicated, allow for instanced material adjustments and merging of selected assets from other projects.
Whether working collaboratively or remotely, every pro studio and indie developer can benefit from the performance upgrades in iClone 8, including the ability to seamlessly merge multiple projects and also benefit the performance of Live Link across multiple applications.
