I imported into CC3 and then exported into iClone.
Everything works great, except when I add an animation and his purple and red cloak and hood don't animate nicely. The physics don't work, the clothes don't flow and look stiff.
In iClone I  tried to to add Soft Cloth in Scene menu to both hood and cloak, but an error message pops up saying "This object has multiple materials. Please select a material first then load a gray map image". So I choose a weight map, any weight map then another error pops up saying "The generated cloth mesh has exceeded the maximum triangle count of 20k and cloth physics performance may be affected, do you wish to continue". I continue and my physics don't work. So I go back to CC3 and try reduce the poly count for Hood and Cloak, reimport into
iClone but now the physics are even more messed up, clothes fall to ground when soft cloth is chosen.

Can anyone help, I just want his cloak and hood to act like flowing items of clothes when animated.

Yeah, that outfit is a hot mess.  While I *think* it could be managed, I'm not going to waste my time on it.

First of all, you need to understand that bringing in ANY clothing from ANYWHERE you will lose any physics that it has in the other environment.  Physics maps need to be created for all such things  brought into CC3.  Secondly, creating such maps yourself is an art form and while it's sometimes easy it's sometimes way above most folks pay grade.  This outfit is a good example of that because the UVs are broken up separately.

The cloak and "hood" are actually separate pieces.  If you want you can easily put physics on the hood - just a simple black to white gradient will do that.  But it's deceptive because the "hood" part looks like it out to be attached to the cloak and because it is not you will NEVER get the physics of the two to match up correctly.  Even bringing them in as accessories and merging them (as I tried) won't work because their UVs are so different (and then the pockets have different UVs after that, which means his pockets will not follow the rest of the outfit).  Truly the only way to get the whole thing to work is to attach it all together and create brand new UVs (I might be able to do it in 3DCoat but, again, I'm not going to waste my time because I'd never use this outfit).  If you're going that route I'd advise you to first take it to Blender and attach all the parts, then bring into 3DCoat, paint your own UVs, and THEN bring back into CC3 and you ought to be fine.  It shouldn't take more than 30 minutes or so, maybe even less.

As I always advise folks - if there is ANY piece of clothing, any avatar, any prop or set in Daz they want to bring over - ask me here first.  I'll tell you if it will work and how much trouble it will be.

Thanks for the help, think I'll leave it and find another outfit.

I have another character I'm having issues with.
Everytime I try import Cyborg Generation 8 from Daz3d to CC3  it comes up with error message, please see attached pic.
I tried adding a Genesis 8 male figure to Daz3d scene, but then when I import using Transformer in CC3, only the genesis 8 figure imports, not the Cyborg.

The Cyborg figure is NOT a Genesis 8 figure.  It's Genesis 8 "compatible", meaning that clothing and movements and such will work with it.  You can't, however, apply shaping to it (try applying any of the Genesis 8 shaping and you'll see).  And because of this it can't be converted to a CC3 avatar.

Now, having said that there are several things you can do.  You can import it via 3DX and characterize it that way - that's the most common way to do it and the way we've always done it in the past.  It will then use any regular iMotion files just like a regular avatar in iClone (but you still can't bring it into CC3).

There's a very tricky workaround I showed recently to treat the Cyborg figure as "clothing" - I'll link the tutorial to that here at the bottom.

Athena is a Genesis 8.1 figure - CC3 does not support Genesis 8.1.

Again, let me remind you and everyone else that before you buy ANYTHING from Daz please ask me here and I'll let you know how compatible it is and whether it's worth bringing into the RL world.

If something is based on Genesis skeleton, it can very well be brought via Transformer and made a CC base character.
You need to bring a genesis figure in DAZ along and then export everything:

And then import via transformer having all parts imported as Hair, and type as Hair Acc.
It is the easiest way to perfectly match whatever you are importing with converted genesis figure/armature and most importantly match fingers instantly.

From this point on you decide what pieces to convert to accessory and what should be a cloth and act accordingly.

So most of the parts were converted to accessories and some of them merged to have less pieces around.
Face as a beard to have some degree or emotions (but not necessary). Center solid piece and rib cage pieces (merged) as a cloth.

and some animation with him:
