Hi, I bought a Character off Daz3d Onlilne shop and want to bring it into CC3. I followed various videos and followed the steps: 1) Inside Daz3d add CC3+ pose then export FBX, then import to CC3 using Transformer button 2) Export to 3dExchange then export to CC3 Please see both results attached, in both cases the clothes dont fit the characters, the shell it separate from the body, any help would great, thanks.

I'm going to assume this is a Geo-shell - Geo-shells are a very particular case that need to be handled differently. If you tell me *exactly* which one it is I can make a video showing you, but in the meantime the general procedure is the same as for this mechanical avatar:
Alienware Aurora R16, Win 11, i9-149000KF, 3.20GHz CPU, 64GB RAM, RTX 4090 (24GB), Samsung 870 Pro 8TB, Gen3 MVNe M-2 SSD, 4TBx2, 39" Alienware Widescreen Monitor Mike "ex-genius" Kelley

Hi Mike, Thanks so much for the quick reply. Yes it is the characters with the shells I'm having issues with, specifically these characters: 1) GYN-02 - https://www.daz3d.com/gyn-02-for-genesis-8-females2) Borg - https://www.daz3d.com/borg-for-genesis-8-female-s3) Anthena Cyborg - https://www.daz3d.com/athena-hd-cyborg-for-genesis-81-female4) System 46 - https://www.daz3d.com/system-46-for-genesis-3-female-sAny help would be very much appreciated, thanks Mike. Kind regards Graeme

Okay, I'll try and get to most of those. This is a bad day for me (I just played tennis and I'm playing again in a few hours) so it might have to wait until tomorrow afternoon (I'm also playing in the morning tomorrow). But I promise I *will* get to these. The good news is there is a way to do most of these shells, even the very complicated ones: here's one with two geoshells I did recently:
Alienware Aurora R16, Win 11, i9-149000KF, 3.20GHz CPU, 64GB RAM, RTX 4090 (24GB), Samsung 870 Pro 8TB, Gen3 MVNe M-2 SSD, 4TBx2, 39" Alienware Widescreen Monitor Mike "ex-genius" Kelley

@graeme_389730 If it's just a body type shell (like your screenshot seems to be), then in Transformer select "Hair" for the type (instead of Accessory) and for the layer select "Hair Acc" When it transformed, select Transfer Skin Weights > Other and apply. Conform and hide appropriate body parts. Note: There is bug in Transformer. If you just select "Hair" and leave a default "Hair Base" as a layer, you will not be able to properly transfer skin weights.

Actually, with Geo-shells by DaveAbbo (which all of those are) what Mr. G suggests won't work. It will fail in a number of different ways. I will show you the correct way of doing it, but I'm dog tired after tennis. I'll make up a tutorial tomorrow.

Right one took 5 min to import. Left one a bit more, since I took it to Blender separated a face and imported as beard. Some minor tweaking for the one with "beard" still might require. It is ridicules that Transformer does not have an option to properly weight accessories in the first place. But this workaround works just fine for now.

You don't have to use Blender if you use the textures correctly with the SkinGen tools.

Perhaps even better to apply overlaid maps based on transparency and even multiple shells to the body in DAZ before export and get rid of shells. Little Photoshop work, but no shells, no problem.
