I couldn’t justify the price of Faceware so I bought a new iPhone and Live Face for the same price. I have demoed both Faceware and Live Face and found that Live Face gave me better results. My question: How can I reduce the lag from my live iPhone video to the model in Iclone? Is this lag caused by a slow PC or is it just the way Live Face works?

Live Face shouldn't give you any lag and would normally have a better response than Faceware. How do you connect Live Face? And what are your PC specs?

The only "lag" that I've ever had with iPhone is the 10-12 frame "drop" at the start of every capture, which I then adjust by sliding things backwards. This was supposed to have been addressed by a software update, but the last time I checked it was still there (but no real issue as it's easy to fix and takes less than a few seconds). I have a video talking about this if you need to see it but I should also check again and see if it still exists (it may not as it's been a while since I've done any face stuff, something I intend to address soon).

I had an internet problem (low connection) which caused freezes and lags with Live Face. Since I have a better connection, it's very smooth! Maybe your problem is here?

Thanks for the replies; I forgot to mention that I’m connected via USB. So it’s a direct connection to my PC. The lag isn’t horrible but it’s definitely noticeable. I hope it’s just a weak PC issue (I have a new one coming in 3 days) System: Alienware Arora-R4, Win 10, i7 @ 3.6 GHz CPU, 32GBRAM, Average NVidia Card. My system is about 7 years old. New system: Boxx Apexx S3 Processor Intel i9-11900K 8 Core - 16 Threads up to 5.3 GHzEnhanced Performance Processor System Memory 32GB DDR4-3200 MHz (2 - 16GB DIMMS) M.2 Storage 500GB SSD NVMe/PCIe 3.0/4.0 M.2 Drive Hard Drive(s) 2.0TB 7,200rpm SATA 6Gb/s Expansion Card Slot(s) NVIDIA RTX A4000 16GB - Extended LeadTimes Operating System Microsoft Windows 10 Professional Edition64-Bit High End

Which Nvidia graphics card do you have in your current system and which graphics card are you getting in the new system? The graphics card is really the most important component for iClone and Character Creator so it's important you get the best you possibly can.

Current graphics card: Nvidia Titan xp Collectors edition. A gamming card. New graphics card: Nvidia RTX A4000 16 GB Ram. A pro card for 3d and video creation. I am very happy to hear that "The graphics card is really the most important component for iClone and Character Creator" I spent over 1k on just my graphics card. I didn't know if iClone and Charactor Creator mostly used the Cpu or graphics card. Thanks for the info!

That RTX card is a stinker -- really, really horrible. I would NOT get it for iClone (you're better off with a used GTX).

As iClone works in realtime (much like modern 3D games) we generally recommend gaming graphics cards rather than Workstation cards. RTX graphics cards like the RTX 2070, 2080, 3070, 3080, 3090 etc. will give great performance. That's not to say you won't get good results from a Quadro graphics card but as you can see we don't include them in our supported graphics card list HERE.

The experience has been, I believe, that a wired Ethernet connection works better than a USB connection for the iPhone.
