I want to create a talking mouth with no body. Is that possible in any of the reallusion products. I really looked and found nothing. Perhaps there's a group of geniuses here that can help an old goat like me. Thanks!

If the beard is a cloth file, it must have the same cloth layer as the jacket. There are 20 cloth layers for your character. 
You just have to give the beard or jacket a different cloth layer number. All the clothes on your avatar have different cloth layer numbers.
I am not at my PC with CC3 to give you a screen shot or be more precise.

You can convert your beard to Smart Hair for a more realistic animation with the facial expressions. Have a look at this manual page to convert your cloth beard to the Smart Hair system:
