Well most people seem to prefer dual monitors, so there you have it. One comment though, my eyes are old too, but like I said I have no problem seeing the UI text of most applications on my 4K monitor. For RL products I need to change the DPI settings.

I have three monitors. I could not return to just one monitor. I use 2 monitors for Iclone (one for the timeline and all other panels, one for viewport) and 1 for unreal, a pleasure

Thanks all for commenting. I appreciate everyone sharing their thoughts. One thing I have noticed in watching tutorials is sometimes how small everything was squeezed onto a single screen, that must be a 4K monitor screen capture. I also wondered if you could stack them on top of each other, that is interesting! I probably would go side by side with a slightly concave angle for a more comfortable viewing.
I am almost interested now to get a bigger 4K one, and then assign the 1080p 27" I am using now as the secondary. What I am wondering is if this would eat at my GPU performance to have all the visual action going on. I wonder if a performance difference has ever been measured if say 2 apps are open on a single monitor, compared to on a dual monitor with each app getting its own screen.

Late to the party but I use 3 monitors. Two for iclone and sometimes one for iclone and the other for Unreal, but the 3rd I just keep the timeline on. I find it invaluable for animating having the timeline on its own monitor especially since I have to animate as fast as possible. I’ll also put the camera view on there as well to help with the switcher and choosing camera angles/moves. There’s space for it even with the timeline. It’s all about speed for me, this helps me get everything done quickly.

Tony, for my part, I did not see any loss of performance using my 3 monitors

Me also I'm using dual monitors, and I had only one (stupid) issue: some of RL message boxes are shown only on the primary display. Therefore, if you launch your RL app on secondary monitor and it shows a message box on the primary one and you're not aware, you may think the app is frozen or not responding. Example: - launch Character Creator on secondary monitor - launch windows explorer on primary monitor and find an iAvatar and drag it onto CC on secondary monitor - the CC remains stuck in "Character Creator 3 / Please wait...", while on the primary monitor is, well, Windows Explorer, nothing else. Well, behind and obscured by Windows Explorer on primary monitor, it's CC's "Apply avatar" message box waiting for your OK/Cancel input.

I sort of use a dual display for my portable 3D modeling rig.
My primary display is a gaming laptop, and I use an Android tablet as my second monitor using an app called Superdisplay.
The app extends or mirrors using the tablet as a second monitor but also allows pen with pressure sensitivity input like a Cintiq. In my case, I use a Samsung tablet with S-pen to do graphics editing like texture maps or brushing for 3D modeling.

Did anyone with dual or triple ever try to mix and match resolutions, like setting 1080p on one and 720p on another, or 4K on one and 1080p on the other?

I use dual 32" monitors and find it essential to my workflow. Someone in these forums who had worked in animation posted specs on industry monitor darkness standards. So, I keep one monitor tuned to industry standards to test lighting in my animations. The other monitor is brighter so I can see more detail when building scenes, etc.
