Preview and recording issue.

Capture and preview is very choppy, it registers like 1 frame every second.
the Motion plugin Preview camera with motion tracking is fine 30fps+, it's just in iclone, everything is supper laggy and choppy even when i disable all the ui and have the default Male avatar.
Couple of times, it managed to have decend recording for a few seconds, then the issue came back .

Ryzen 5 1600 cpu
RX580 GPU 

Any idea ?

Hi...

Try lowering your graphics settings down which should improve performance. You can change the dropdown on the top toolbar to Quick Mode and see how that is.

You can also go into Preferences (CTRL+P) and lowering other settings like "Max Texture Size" which again may help with performance.

display viewport makes no difference it's set to minimal, BUT
it's now working and i did nothing special, just rebooted iclone a couple of time and the 5th times it worked. 
Can't pin point the issue, but so far so good. 
Also there must be something wrong with my mocap retargeting , even on the most simple poses, standing still,  limbs are way overextended and goes crazy, it's far from the quality of the video tutorials on youtube, but tha'ts another subject.

And the issue is back. Sometimes it's fine for one take, then the other take is super slow.
 Now i need to know what causes this, i can't be the only one.
- Capture and FPS in the plugin is fine so it's not the USB input speed.
- Viewport only ui + Minimal settings . Iclone is responding well while recording (ui and viewport) , so it's not a cpu/gpu issue
- Default Avatar so it's not the rig
- Reinstalled Kinect SDK from reallusion website. Mocap_Plug_in_Kinect_XboxOne_trial.exe  , i'm using an xbox one kinect.

 it's the link between Kinect plug in and iclone that seems to be the issue. 
The randomness factor is also very frustrating.
I'm very interested in buying this product but it's so inconsistent, i just can't risk it until i find a way to fix this.

I recently purchased a kinect V2 (Xbox One) with Reallusion's Motion Kinect plug in, my system is a 16GB GTX 1070.

On the whole it works well, you need be well lit so you stand out from your surroundings and you need to have calibrated within the plugin. 

It works very well for me, no slowdown issues, just sometimes it isnt precise, it doesnt like fast motion of your limbs.

Is it smooth for you in IPIsoft just with one Kinect, or are you using two?

I've been looking at the Kinect plugin and both the Brekel and IPIsoft's Kinect stuff, waiting for my Kinect PC adapter to arrive so I can compare them all.  I'm curious if you would be able to record a facial performance in iClone using LiveFace, and record your body mocap in IPIsoft at the same time, then bring the BVH files into iClone to get the best of both worlds.

I had pretty good result with Brekel body, it's budget friendly but require a lot of cleaning. 
iPi is using IK rig to retarget your caracter. Foot tracking is not perfect, lack of space in my appartment but the result is good enough so far.

So now i'm using iPi with 2 kinects v2 with PS move on my head for head rotation tracking. 
I can record a video with a facecam at the same time and retarget it after no problem.. so i guess you can do this with iClone.

I wanted to give reallusion a chance but for a production pipeline it's like 3K$ of license ( maybe more ) + a freaking iPhoneX $.
Don't get me wrong, iClone is easy to use, the lipsync is solid. It's a good software if you want to play with a caracter for fun, but for a video game production, it's not as good as their cheaper competitors in my opinion.
Oh and i almost forgot, iPi can export directly in BVH ( 3dsmax biped with custom hirearchy) , with iClone, as far as i know you only have .FBX and you have to setup your caracter in 3dxchange pipeline first and hope it's gonna retarget properly as well.

Thanks!  I finally got my Kinect adapter so I tried iPi vs iClone's Kinect plugin, and iPi works far better for smoothing out the performance.  And after trying to get BVH files into iClone, I finally found that going through 3DXchange seems to be the only way to get the iPi animation into iClone as an FBX.  Now that I know how to do everything, I think this workflow will work for me.
