So today I learned that you need to bake the skin textures when importing from DAZ into CC...:blush:
There is a software called
FaceGen that I have had for a long time, but couldn't use directly. It creates a face from a photo. The result is a textured mesh. There is a plugin to export to DAZ (in the form of a morph and textures), but until now that wasn't of much use. There is a Pro version of the plugin that works with G8 characters. Putting two and two together, you can create a G8 character with the desired head and then use the Transform tool to apply it the a CC3 character. In other words, this provides you with an alternative head creator without the need for CT8. Here is a first test:

The head shape needs some work and mine looks too friendly. Overall, I'm pleased though. FaceGen has a large number of morphs build in, which it sets according to the supplied photo after a simple calibration. You can the make further changes by manipulating the sliders. FaceGen only generates Diffuse maps, so that is another area for improvement.
