I agree we do need to discuss external animation render solutions. Also i wonder if content creators are not happy about external solutions as people will likely create their own content not to mention that unreal engine 4 has at least 13 million dollars of free content people can use . But personally of course i love the content created here as i have purchased much of it before . I find the folks here to be very creative and make wonderfull content .

More interesting than a yes-no fools errand discussion is the question whether and/or when there will be RTX support for Iray. That would make a difference. And for those happy with an external render solution, please go ahead. That was not the topic of this discussion.

AutoDidact (10/22/2018)
Have you seen any animated footage in IRay in any of the Official reallusion videos since the release of CC3?? if so please share a link.
CC3 doesn't render animation.

Lamias (10/22/2018) It saddens me that RL seems to be oriented more towards stills and games and less towards animation, as it used to be.
Is it the end of an era?
Completely agree with JAV, RL's expanding their market. RL's money maker is IC, and it's come a long way since inception with CC3, curve editor, PBR, morphs sliders, ZBrush integration.. There's no plausible reason they'd shift to a rendered stills vendor, Daz has that cornered. Although there's a back order on 2080's and IRAY takes forever and a day, these obstacles will be joked about in a couple years. There's a lot of creators who don't want to spend years learning Maya to create animated movies. Tech Titans like Nvidia are setting the groundwork for making them look good.

Erm ..... IMHO, 60sec per frame quite challenging for any non high-end graphic card work with iray plugin. Therefore, some user hope RL bring Octane render engine inside IC7 to fix that. If this became true, that will be 3rd nightmare after indigo & iray plugin. I'm had no confident about it. Just hope RL don't give up their native render engine. VGXI 2.0 is release some time, flicking problem already fix.
(I'm still waiting SSS in native render engine)

I don't see it that way. It looks like they are trying to GROW their customer base, and it sounds like it might be working. Hopefully that gives them more resources (money) to do more great things across the entire product line. Even this most recent iClone patch, which was mainly for CC3 compatibility, included a number of surprise fixes and enhancements, so iClone is not being ignored even in the midst of all the CC3 excitement. I think that bodes well for the future of iClone and animation.
iClone 7... Character Creator... Substance Designer/Painter... Blender... Audacity... Desktop (homebuilt) - Windows 10, Ryzen 9 3900x CPU, GTX 1080 GPU (8GB), 32GB RAM, Asus X570 Pro motherboard, 2TB SSD, terabytes of disk space, dual monitors. Laptop - Windows 10, MSI GS63VR STEALTH-252, 16GB RAM, GTX 1060 (6GB), 256GB SSD and 1TB HDD

Renderosity is about to switch its focus from a Dying Poser application to the innovative suite of Reallusion Character products.
Makes sense, but surprising, since you don't see much iclone there in the past.
I would welcome Rendo artists, to create Iclone assets, for sale in the Rendo store.
