Okay, just trying to understand the terminology and how to use this stuff, but when I have a prop (prop only, guys, not a character) in Daz that has a morph (that's what it's called in Daz) and I export as FBX with the morphs checked (so what I assume is the FBX including morphs) and then bring into XChange with the idea that I will then bring into iClone and Morph Creator and use the morphs as it's supposed to automagically do... it does not. I'm assuming that's because what Daz thinks of as a "morph" is not what XChange/iClone does, right? Is there some kind of magic to make this work or can you not just use a Daz "morph" in Morph Creator as such?

It should not differ as it is just vertex movement from one point in space to another. When exporting from DAZ make sure it says "Yes" for each morph in "Export" section and then they should show up in "Face Setup" section in 3DX. I'd be surprised if it would not be applied in Morph Creator afterwards.

Yeah, maybe I just don't understand Daz (hint: I don't). I put the morph on what I assume is the timeline (so it does work) and in the FBX export the morph does show up but it doesn't say "Yes" under the export because the morph itself is underneath the Prop type (which *does* have a yes). Under the export it says "Bake" by the morph, which doesn't sound like I want, but I see no way to change this. In the FBX morph export rules there is that .CTRLVS for rule 0, and then it says "Final" and match is "Anything" and it says Bake but there doesn't appear to be any way to delete this rule or change it in any way. Edit: Okay, got it. Somehow (don't ask me) I deleted the export rule 0 and then added one that said to export all morphs and then I was able to click on the morph and say "Yes" to the export and all worked well. Thanks -- I don't think I would have continued to mess with this if you hadn't responded to me. Now this opens up all kinds of things (because there are a LOT of morphs in the Daz studio stuff).

Oops, cross-posed my edit. Wow -- you remember things much better than I ever would (no surprise there -- I barely remember what I had for breakfast). In any case, it's working now. So I probably will go back and look at this tutorial anyway (might learn a lot more -- probably will :>).

Oh yes, DAZ developers have a way of making morphs - tons of them for a simple prop. Probably never gonna use all of them as they cover lot of small tweaks, but it nice to have them handy :)

Yeah, I can't believe I didn't try this before. It is WAY cool to let the Daz props do their thing (I have blast doors opening -- not a trivial thing since they are in three sections which close to the center -- cars which have all doors and wheels operable, helicopters and prop planes and all manner of things which now can be easily animated with morphs). Now I just need more time to explore all this stuff.
