Jfrog (5/14/2017) I would really like to see this video but the link is broken. Can it be seen somewhere else?
Thank you Rampa.Sorry Jfrog, it was deleted quite some time ago. It never did really render right. iClone 7 will have actual mesh morphing that will be able to do a better job. But I do have a video for a Blender rigged ocean. You can download it from the comments section, or this link. :) https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B3nsNVGroEz6S3VodVhIWFFmcVE

Thanks, Rampa! I have used displacement for water, but didn't know your trick. I created the water video in Genetica. I've tried footsteps in the sand using this technique, but maybe with your trick that would actually work. EDIT: I tried my footsteps and they now work. Thanks again for the tip!

So, with a little bit of trickery, we can make ocean waves using a video in the displacement texture channel of the material.
