hello there friends, I want to export iclone character to 3ds max via FBX and followed some tutorials like "https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pX40UbdMhiQ" but at the very end i found i could not export where the tool preset in 3dxchange(please view the attachment filled with red circle) for exporting to 3ds max cannot be found. Please help how can i get over there.

Hi mailtophoo :)/ with the assumption that you have the "pipeline" version of 3Dxchange ( because it's the only version that exports fbx ) - it's strange that you do not have that preset because it's automatically installed in your system with the software - aside from just assuming that your installation is missing files, thus may need a fresh installation, do you have the latest updates installed - as that may be a factor. Cheers!

eep, scratch that , I just fired up my software to verify - and i didn't have it either lol - that graphic is also from the beta version..... try the motionbuilder or maya - it should still be compatible - you can also customize the options as well. - I'm sure it will work fine else this forum would have been in an uproar since most of the top developers use max. ;)

Hi mailtophoo, The only important difference between Max and Maya presets is that for Maya Axis settings is "Y-Up" but for Max You should use "Z-Up" for this parameters. All other parameters depends from Your needs. Tip: To improve textures quality after export is better to set check mark in parameter "Convert Image Format to" and change it to something different from JPG ;) Good Luck :)

The 3DS Max preset is available in 3DXchange5 Pipeline 5.51. Please make sure you have installed the latest full version. You can get this from your Member Account. You will then see the options below.

Like Vitaly said , you don't need any profil to export max or other . Just choose what you want . 3dx5.51 show some preset , yes , but what if you don't know what is checked :P .
