The real question that keeps coming to my mind is...why me? lol

Hasn't anyone else ever seen this message before? I've seen it twice already!

               

This isn't creativity and it is certainly not professional. It should never happen. Period. I've been a professional programmer for about 23 years now with several top notch firms and this was never acceptable. As for Bally Technologies, our code is submitted to regulators and scrutinized by 3rd parties. You just can't have this sort of thing in there. And Reallusion releases their product for commercial consumption and I'm sure they would agree that they don't want this kind of amateurish, high-school, hacker prank mentality in their released product. Although I've yet to hear a response to my complaint or an apology so maybe I'm wrong there.

I'm glad I do not work for Bally Technologies...  In my 25+ years as IT professional I have seen a case of an interesting and heated debate between two highly talented and creative software developers being fought out in the comments of the code.  And yes, the government customer had access to the code. The developers weren't fired. Good software developers are like artists. If you want everything by the book and kill all creativity, you should go into accounting or something...

Thanks for confirming that I am not crazy and seeing things…

I already have the latest version of iClone, 4.31.2517, and that’s the version that I experienced the cheeky message. BTW, this is not the first time that I have seen the error. I am pretty sure that I saw it when I first started out with iClone about a year ago. I didn’t report it then as I was newer than new and wasn’t sure if it was some kind of code for an avatar error lookup table ;)

Anyway, if you search your current code base you are sure to find it. Rather than just changing the message perhaps Reallusion could aim for some better error handling? The best error handling I have seen to date is Adobe After Effects (AE CS5). When AE crashes, it actually saves your current project before exiting!

               

And the reverse, as well.

Priceless? I disagree. I'm a principal software engineer for Bally Technologies and I have to say that if someone had that in our code they'd be fired. It is beyond inappropriate. I expect Reallusion to admit that this is what we know it to be and to issue a public apology to the community. And I don't mean a post in these forums.

Which version of iClone4 are you using?

This particular message was in early test versions of iClone4 but shouldn't be in the latest commercial release. Please try upgrading your version of IC4 to the latest available which is 4.31.2517. This should help resolve any problems you are having. :)

I hope this is not a real error message in iClone. Unless I'm very much mistaken this appears to be a very inappropriate error message. I would guess that it means "You're screwed" and probably is referring to the cheek on your posterior. I don't even like saying such a thing in this post, but I'm doing so so that I can emphatically share my utter shock and disappointment in Reallusion for allowing such an error message to exist in their code.

If this error message does indeed exist, I request that Reallusion remove this and any similar messages from their code base and issue an apology to the community. This is extremely unprofessional.

OK, I have seen some cryptic error messages in my time, even written a few, however this one takes the cake...

"Raise Left Cheek"

I tried raising all available cheeks, but to no avail, iClone still got stuck and I had to kill it and restart.

Has anyone else encountered this interesting error message?
