I am using iClone5 Pro 5.4 on Vista. Since upgrading to 5.4, I have noticed some strange behavior when animating props when rotation is involved.
Steps:
1. Place an object, say block-01, anywhere in the scene. Change pivot to "middle center" and reset transformation.
2. Scrub ahead on the timeline and then enter "90" in the Rotate Y. Everything is fine so far. X = 0, Y = 90, Z = 0
3. Scrub ahead on the timeline and then enter "180" in the Rotate Y. Everything looks fine ... X = 0, Y = 180, Z = 0
BUT now if you scrub ahead in anticipation of rotating to "270", Rotate jumps to new values: X = 180, Y = 0, Z = 180
I thought maybe moving the pivot and/or resetting transform to zero might be the culprit but my tests show this happens no matter what I do.
I have to manually reset X and Z to 0, then enter 270 -- which works but this is not the behavior I'm accustomed to. I have made some fairly complex special effects using props etc in the past and I don't recall this behavior before. It now creates problems when building structures using "Attach" -- the parent can be forced to behave "correctly" but the components seem to inherit this problem making for extra work. And God help you if you "Merge".
Any feedback on this problem? Anyone else noticing a change in rotation behavior on the timeline?

If you start a new project and add an avatar with the blink setting at normal, do you still get double blinking?
Sometimes it appears that if you select say nervous, which causes double blinking, and then return to normal, the double blinking continues. But if you start with normal it should remain single blinks.
We will check this though. Thanks for the notification.Thats what I am seeing, but anything but normal (or none) seems to cause double blinking. The Dev team will look into this to see if there is an issue that needs correcting. If anyone else is experiencing this problem please let us know. The more feedback the better. :)

Don't know if it's just me, but the online help seems not to be using the bottom third of the screen. Any reason for that?

rampa (3/16/2013) I've been thinking of doing a clean install as well. My avatars are double-blinking, even when set to normal blink rate.If you start a new project and add an avatar with the blink setting at normal, do you still get double blinking? I have repeated crashes in 5.4 with the timeline. The timeline was always kind of senstive, but now the problem seems repeatable, at least most of the time If I have a motion clip in the Motion track and I select the clip without the Motion track being selected first (by clicking on its label the column on the left), iClone will crash. Not always, but more of than I would like. The culprit is the timeline UI DLL, according to Windows. Maybe I should do what others have done and perform a clean install... Certainly worth doing a clean install. This isn't an issue I have been able to reproduce so far.

Thank you all for the feedback. As always, this will all be passed to the iClone development team to investigate. If you have any issue that is seriously affecting your use of iClone5, please do contact Technical Support using the link below. Thanks. http://www.reallusion.com/CustomerSupport/User/QForm.aspx
