A "Repair" Option has been requested many times over the Years, Pete.

A Re-Install shouldn't affect your Saved Projects or Content.

The Missing Timeline has cropped-up before. Relaunching iClone fixed it.

Might be worth seeing if your Editing HDD needs Defragmenting. A Defrag "might" also fix it.

I've no idea how to de-frag anything, is it simple? (sounds hard) :doze: It's good to know that my crap will be saved on a re-install. I have alot of crap. :P

It's possible that I could solve alot of problems with a re-install as I was like a kid driving a locomotive at first. I was pullin' this lever and that handle, pushin' this button and flippin' that switch without really knowing what any of it did.

If you've "never" Defragged your HDD, I'm surprised your PC hasn't ground to a halt & is still standing-up:D

You should find Windows Disk Defragmenter here; Start / All Programs / System Tools. 

I use a 3RD Party Disk Defragmenter; Diskeeper, that Defragments on the fly & anticipates fragmentation before it happens.

Editing in iClone can quickly fragment the files on your HDD. Not regularly checking for Disk Fragmentation is probably the cause of a number of iClone problems, IMO. So, do that before you Reinstall.

Windows says my drive is de-fragmented on a schedule. Every Wednesday at 1:00am. Do you think that is often enough or should I schedule another one in between.

It'll only Run if you have your PC on at the Scheduled time.

Since a single long iClone Editing session "can" Fragment your HDD, I'd be inclined to check for Fragmentation before each Editing session. Select Analyze. Windows will then tell you if your HDD needs Defragmenting.

That being said Windows Defragmenter isn't particularly thorough or accurate. That's why many Editors have a 3RD Party Defragmenter that over-rides Windows Defragmenter.

I also have Window Washer & jvc Power Tools Programs that I Run every day, as part of my PC good housekeeping practice. iClone very seldom Hangs (Crashes), here.

In the Content Manager Media/Video, the custom folder won't open is this normal.

Okay.... completely new to iClone... but not at all new to computers...

right now... i'm feeling a bit lost...

when I Save a project from the Project tabs, I am unable to re-open it. I get an error message that reads "failed to load the file. If this is a .vns file please switch to the project page and try again."

No clue what I'm doing wrong with such a basic function.

My Save Projects is writing files to:
C:\Users\Public\Documents\Reallusion\Custom\iClone 5 Custom\Project

but the Open Project menu is reading from:
C:\Users\Public\Documents\Reallusion\Template\iClone 5 Template\iClone Template\Project

is this as simple as a configuration problem? Any assistance would be appreciated...

I have got a question.

I am really new in Iclone.

I have build a stage with actors and added few cameras. how i can record the "movie" with switching cameras? when i press f12 i cannot enter the directors mode. Nothing happens.
