Hi Brent Character Creator 3 Pipeline is certainly not intended as a full replacement for 3DXchange 7 Pipeline. As the name implies Character Creator 3 is primarily an avatar creator with flexible import and export options to allow you to send characters to iClone 7, other 3D software or game engines. To import and export props and other scene elements you will still need 3DXchange 7 Pipeline.

For the CC3 Pipeline, I just want to clarify. Does this mean any other accessories worn or rather "attached" to the Character model like weapons, tools, clothes, hats, etc. can be exported? The only restriction is being able to export Props and other elements not attached or not part of the Character model?

I just found this info about 3DXchange 7 from a post about a trial version offer of iClone. This kinda worries me. Maybe they should've also specified Character Creator 3 Pipeline can also export characters and motions to other 3D tools... 76% of original size (was 659x19) - Click to enlarge

The highlighted text is explaining that only the Pipeline edition of 3DXchange 7 has export options. The Pro version of 3DXchange 7 doesn't. It isn't trying to say 3DXchange is the ONLY way to export characters and motions but that if you do purchase it you need the Pipeline version to export.

It isn't trying to say 3DXchange is the ONLY way to export characters and motions but that if you do purchase it you need the Pipeline version to export.RL's software has so many nice features but they are so segregated it's kinda confusing especially for newbies. Anyhow, I'm just making sure as someone from RL Store Chat initially informed me that "accessories" cannot be exported in CC3 Pipeline and only character models can. But this thread enlightened me. Thanks for the clarification. :-) By the way, would you know if its possible to transfer the iClone and CC3 Pipeline license from an old PC to then install it on a new one in the future? My machine is kinda just a little above the minimum requirements of CC3 Pipeline and so I'm planning to upgrade later on.

The only thing that you have to do is uninstall the software from your old computer and then reinstall it on the new one. It is very important to make sure that your old PC is connected to the internet when you uninstall as this will free up your license. You can save a lot of work if you copy your content folders from the old to the new PC, then you will only have to reinstall the "Bonus" packs.

I just couldn't resist passing up this sweet bundle here at $199 for both. It's ending in 16 hours and counting. Thanks for all the information. :-)

Thanks for all the information. :-) Their business model is almost like a crack dealer. Give you a little to get you hooked. One day at the end of a year just like today, you might feel like I do when you realize you spent more on props, sets and clothes for your characters and movies than things for your my own house or life.
